A cushion I will buy unless someone convinces me otherwise!

In my seemingly never-ending quest to ''build'' my ring, I have come acorss another cushion. I think I will buy this one, unless someone can convince me otherwise.
Mark T. found it for me. He seems to be a busy man, but comes highly recommended, and is friendly,informed and accomodating so I trust him. I have had 2 very, very bad experiences so far in my diamond hunt. i am becoming so disillusioned and frustrated with the industry I may have to write a book some day! When this ring is complete I will post my looooong full story and pics of the finished product. so without further commentary, what do you think of these stats:

i''ll attach a pic he sent--i think it looks nice. The only thing i worry about is the appearance of the table. i looked at another cushion (in person) with the same facet pattern and the table looked like an empty circle plopped on top--it really stood out and was a distraction. i don''t know if i am describing it properly, but it was like the middle was empty. Mark ensures me that it is a beautiful stone, but i am worried about buying without seeing and getting the same effect. What do u think?

Oh. What you''re describing is an "open culet." Lots of people love them!

jas, can you attach the picture? without all the numbers it''s harder to guess but with cushions you can''t just use numbers anyway. I''d be inclined to trust Mark''s eyes based on the track record he has here. Have you expressed your concerns to him about the table? I guess if you''re really concerned I''d have the stone shipped before you set it and take a look in person. Or at least have it sent to an appraiser to look at it with you. Mark really does know is cushions and if he''s says it''s a winner, i''d believe him.

I do trust Mark based on pricescope feedback, and i have expressed my concern to him regarding the look, so I am now going on hope and this pic alone! Mark''s judgement is probably better than my own at this point, b/c i have not had any good experiences. If I have to send back yet another ring, make more ''undercover'' phone calls, endure stressful shipping processes, spend hours researching etc. etc. I think I am going to (gasp) start hating diamonds.

(sorry guys, just a little venting going on here I''ll stop now.

the cushion looks good in the picture to me, but I'm no expert either. If you have made it clear your expectations and mark has selected this stone for you, i'll think you'll be very pleased

You have made me feel a lot better. I do love the pic as well, but wasn''t confident to make the move on my own. Mark is by far the most knowledgable dealer I have spoken with thus far, and pricescope recommendations just serve to increase my confidence in him.

First of all, that stone looks gorgeous!!! I would trust Mark completely- I did, we bought our diamond from him, and although it was not a cushion, it was an EC, he still picked me the best stone ever! His eyes are amazing! I get compliments on my stone daily....like I said, I wouldnt worry, if you did make your preferences clear to Mark, I am sure he picked you a winner!

Cant wait to see it all set and done! Sounds like it will be BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
