Another question.

I read that older certs should be questioned. I''ve also done some searching on Good Old Gold (which seems to be well respected on this site)

A lot of there certs seem to be around 2 years old. Is that a problem?

Does anyone know what their return/guaranttee policy is (not listed on their site)

If you listed angles/degrees on the crowns and pavilions, and it is 100% eye clean, then #4 (the E SI1) is the direction I'd lean in. It scored 0.7, Ex/Ex/Ex/Ex on the HCA (if those are angle measurements).

As to older certs,.... The only major change on diamond grading Certs recently (that I am aware of) has been flourescence reporting. "Flour" is now reported as negligible instead of "None" or "Inert".

Call GOG and chat with them. I'm sure they will tell you their return policy and help you with any other questions you may have as well.

See, now I would pick the G VS2. The HCA = 1, which is also stunning, and I am partial to the pavillion angle being right on. The price should be better with the G color, which will look great in any white metal. Just goes to show that we all have different preferences!

Strictly from a perspective of numbers, the 1.01 carat, E, SI-1 would be our first choice, followed by the 1.01 carat, G, VS-2 then the 1.02 carat, F, SI-1 and finally the 1.01 carat, G, VS-1... The 40.6 degree pavilion angle seems to always perform well and the crown angle of 34.7 degrees is within a specific range that we prefer... The crown angle of the 1.01 carat, G, VS-2 is a "little" shallower than we prefer, but the pavilion angle is right on and thus the diamond "should" perform well... The pavilion angle of 40.9 degrees was actually the "target" pavilion angle for the original producers of the H&A stones and tends to be quite pleasing, we don't know why Garry Holloway decided to "can it" in his recent changes to the HCA but we're still quite fond of it... The crown angle of 34.3 degrees is at the lower edge of our preferred zone... We don't like the proportions of the 1.01 carat, G, VS-1 at all and would pass on the stone...
