Aww what a sweet kitty. It sounds to me like she was attention starved and that is why she is so good when you are bathing her, and swabbing her eyes and ears, nail cap applications etc. She is starved for love and affection. So glad she found you guys. :appl:

I know of another cat who is MAD for bread. Funniest thing ever. Her owners can't buy bread and leave it out. They have to store it in the microwave!

I have two former strays that are VERY food motivated. If you don't have one already you might need a very heavy kitchen trash can. I had to get a new one when I got Jack as he would tip the other over and go through the garbage like a dog. :lol:

I know, this bread issue is crazy. I'm going to have to lock the pantry. First it was just a plain loaf of grocery store bread but THEN she ate the end of my special snowflake quinoa bread! She's also a big fan of being carried places like a mini Cleopatra :lol:

eta: Two of mine tore open iced oatmeal cookies and completely ate the first section of cookies. They would probably have continued but the tray divider slowed them down. They also knocked a package of white Oreo cookies down off the counter, tore it open, pulled them apart, and binged on the icing. Somebody gnawed a couple of the cookie pieces but they obviously preferred the icing. They love Breyer's vanilla ice cream, too. One loves lettuce and has his "salad" every evening.

She is gaining weight rapidly! When she first came in you could very clearly see bone definition and feel ribs, and in a little over a week she has made a huge turnaround. She is beginning to relax a little bit about food as well (a tiny bit!). She used to stalk the food area constantly either to guard from intruders or make sure it was still there, now she saunters over only when she's hungry. Good changes are happening!
