We obviously all love rings and other jewelry. But how important is the wrapping and packaging? Is it part of the fun? Do you throw your boxes away? Or do you cherish them?

Please share your vendor boxes, fabulous pictures and your stories:
- love it or not so much? And why
- do you feel it’s suitable for a proposal?
- Do you store your rings in them?
- Are you not using them, but storing them anyway?
Etc etc

Victor Canera’s boxes are great. I have four of them. The packaging consists of a sturdy ‘sleeve’ and a beautiful box of the same material. The interior is grey velvet which adds to a calm, high quality look.

I do not store my rings in them as the boxes are too large for my jewelry pouch that goes into the safe.

In my opinion great for proposals, but you need to bring a bag as your fiancee will otherwise know what you are up to as it will not fit in your jeans...

I believe the design has changed somewhat? I would love to see the new box.

Brilliantly Engaged has a beautiful box. High quality and an amazing colour. I did not keep it as.. well it screams engaged because of the company name. Great for proposals in terms of size and quality...

Caysie’s (CvB Inspired Design) former box. She now uses beautiful velvet boxes? I read in a recent thread that wooden boxes look like coffins?

I looove this box. Handmade, simple, high quality... I store my 3 Victor Canera CS rings in these. Sorry Victor and Caysie!

Unbrandef black velvet box by Marc Williams. Great box that feels like a prettty little chocolate box that contains only one delicious chocolate. I store my Marc Williams ring in it’s original box as it is a great size.

Ideal box for proposals and to store your ring in.

Another lovely little personal chocolate box. This one is by Leon Mege. I love the colour, the subtle branding, the black velvet inside.

Because of it’s size I can store my LM Paraiba ring in this box.

Great for proposals because of the cute size and luxurious feel

Looking forward to see your favourite or not so favourite boxes.
I will be back with the David Klass box (with lighting inside!) and Alistair Kelsey’s strong and undetstated (unbranded) box.

The Blue Nile box as shown by @JVH
Seems to be a beautiful and understated navy blue? Based on the pics it seems to be nice box.

The Whiteflash box! Love the black and white stylish look. Sorry, I don’t know who made these beautiful pics:
I am quoting a PSer:
“The box is a high finish black lacquer with a white leather interior. The interior of the ring box is stamped in a silver ink with the WF symbol.”

There is no logo on the outside of the box which is actually nice in my opinion.

I love this box by Alistair Kelsey! A very young, fresh, edgy, simple box without branding. Black cardboard with leather lining on the inside. One of my favourite boxes and I do use them to store my AK rings in as they have a great size (substantial, yet not overly large).

In these boxes, the ring is the star.

Some vendors even have different boxes for their different jewelry lines?
Above showing Brian Gavin black line and Brian Gavin Signature boxes.
Photo’s courtesy to @holeydonut .

The black line box is made of recycled materials to echo the eco friendly nature of this line.

Boxes are all a matter of taste whether you like them or not: @holeydonut has bought a wooden box from Etsy to propose to his soon to be fiancee.

What’s not to like about this box?
The lid has a nice domed shape and when you open the box a cute little light shines on your beautiful ring.
The box is nicely patterned.

Personally I do not love it though...Too big for my jewelry pouch and not special enough to keep it. And because of the domed shape, you cannot stack it. Soooo, when I wanted to throw 4 boxes away, my now 12 year old son rescued them. He loves the lighting and keeps keys, stones and little toys in the boxes.

@SparkliesLuver and @elle_71125 and @mrs-b . Do you still have all your DK boxes and how do you evaluate them?

I think they matter. Presentation is important. The wrapping is not nearly as important as what is inside of course (just like with people). But the presentation shows the effort and thought behind the project/product so it matters to some extent. But if I could only have one amazing thing it would be the ring and not the box (doh:cheeky:). But I love a good presentation and a beautiful box what can I say?

Here is the vendor (Jewels by Grace) box. It's a very pretty box.

Here is my favorite ring box. The one my dh made for me with his two hands. Engraved and all. One of his first woodworking projects all those years ago.

Thank you Ellen! It was (I think) one of his first woodworking projects. He taught himself woodworking and has never looked back. He built our bookcases in our library room and all our radiator covers in our apartment as well as our master bedroom headboards to name a few. And of course the feral kitty feeders and housing.

I have to ask him to make me more jewelry boxes to accommodate my collection. Though the velvet boxes are super pretty too. Different flavors.

Thanks for sharing @missy !
The JbG box is gorgeous!! Is it similar to a mrsBox? Love the soft velvet look and the small size. Definitely a box you want to keep.

I loooove your proposal box. I have admired it in the propsal box thread. Is that the one you are referring to @Ellen ? It’s so special that he made it with his one hands. But also that it is really beautiful with the soft wood and soft lines. The lining is gorgeous. No wonder Buballah feels right at home in the box.

Thank you @Acinom! The Grace box is very soft (softer than the mrs box) and a bit larger than the Mrs Box. Let me take a photo for you side by side. BRB.

Also just to clear things up Greg didn't propose to me with the wooden box he made but it was years later after he started woodworking but maybe it was around the time I got Bea so in a way it was a re-proposal. :halo:

I looove this box by London based Dutch designer Sheila Westera. It’s a giant (deep) black cardboard box. Edgy and big like her jewelry. I have kept this box because it is soo pretty. Straight lines and subtle branding in the inside. It was wrapped in beautiful black ribbons.

When you open the box, you feel like Alice in Wonderland because of the giant size of the box.

Wow! Thanks for the comparison pics @missy . I can see the softness indeed as well as the larger dimensions compared to the mrs box.

I believe Caysie now uses velvet as well. Wonder how hers compares.

Aha! I love the idea of the sort of reproposal with the handmade box. So romantic

Cool thread! I'll admit that I keep most of my ring boxes...even though I never store my rings in them. Hoarder mentality maybe? :P2 I occasionally purge during deep cleaning cycles but I should still have a few.

David Klass has actually had a few different boxes. I will upload some pics when I get back home.

I did not know it was a proposal box, Missy just said it was the first on DH made. But yes, the wooden one.

ETA Just saw Missy's last remark on it!

Ah, would love to see the David Klass evolution of boxes! Thanks in advance elle!

And hopefully @diamondseeker2006 and @bright ice chime in to share their CvB boxes.

Caysie did my engagement ring last year, and at least at that point she was using velvet boxes similar to the Mrs Box. Pretty sure she still is. Before she shipped, she offered me a choice of 3 different colors. I chose the purple/magenta and I think there was a blue and maybe a yellow. I like the look of the velvet box and how they can easily be tucked in a pocket or handbag if needed.

(I don’t have a photo showing the entire box handy at the moment but can snap one when I get home.)

I love nice presentation boxes and use them to store my better prices inside my big jewelry box. I also keep the presentation boxes so I have them in. Are I ever want to sell, consign, to bequeath any of these pieces to my nieces. I think it’s nice to get the unboxing experience with a preloaded item.

And so is the delicious box! Beautiful colour and I love the soft velvet and small size. Would be great if you could catch a pic of the complete box later.

From Maison Birks in Canada, the box that my anniversary stackers came in. The top flips open to reveal a compartment for a tiny travel pouch.
Great box! I love the secret compartment. Must check them out... I loooove your stackers. Do you have a thread with them?

I have two Victor Canera boxes and I love them- very luxe, sturdy, and heavy. I have a ton of boxes as well, but I really like this Julia B box. Obviously it’s a Mrs Box-insipired box but was half the price.
48DB573E-7646-4BCA-A68F-3E359557FB88.jpeg
I also have three David Klass boxes. The two on the ends are both identical outside but one is obviously black interior and the other is white.

I really like the middle box the best. I can’t remember which order I got these boxes so not sure what was the older box vs newer.

I also really love my Cartier boxes. One is a ring box and the larger one was for my watch. It was quite a production for a watch!
