Teen friend gift: Golden south sea pearl on cord

Christmas shopping help... my daughter wants to buy an inexpensive single south sea pearl bracelet on a silk or leather cord for her friend. Blemishes, baroque, any quality or quirks are fine. She just wants it to be genuine and golden in color.

Are there Etsy vendors that would have this type of product for around $30?

Truth be told... my 2c -- you may be hard pressed to find any GSS pearl that looks like it actually belongs on jewelry for that price. Anything that low and you'll run into fakes, REALLY bad quality, etc. - And you still want it to be something that looks pretty, at least. I looked on etsy for "golden south sea pearl," just sorting by price: low-high, and everything that comes up is mostly shell pearl (mother of pearl, coated with nacre).

You'd be able to find a peachy cultured freshwater pearl for that price- and it'd be pure nacre, so no bead underneath. It wouldn't quite be the same color, though.

You could get in touch with PearlParadise - see if they have something not listed on the website (which they always do) that might interest you. You might be able to get a smaller than normal drop shaped pearl, but I think at the very least it would run you probably double the $30 budget, though.

I will keep an eye out and ponder...

Yeah 30$ is a stretch for that type of pearl to be real. :/

What about buying a drilled one and stringing it onto the leather cord yourself?

Etsy vendor Wen Pearls may have something suitable, however the quality of the pearl may not be that good - one gets what one pays for, etc. etc..

My daughter is very pleased with the “look” and the blemishes. They are a decent weight and slide nicely on the cord. She bought one for herself and one for a friend for Christmas. The vendor (link above) was very sweet and was in contact with my daughter throughout the transaction and shipping process.
