Hi all. Brand new guy here but found my way to this forum
I am looking for a yellow sapphire for my wife for an anniversary present
She's been hinting at a new ring for a while now and after going through her Pinterest I think this is what she wants..
Any ideas ladies on where to find a well priced yellow sapphire that won't make me have to sell my car?

Trying to keep it around a thousand or 1500 or so,she definitely deserves a good stone but seems everything is quite pricey. I did take a look through loupe troop but nothing really was on there that seems like her style. Because I know I still have to find a good setting with some diamonds after. That's how it works right?

I'm sure she would prefer a yellow diamond but there's no way I can buy that for her. But I know from the photos she wants something round or oval

What will you do for a setting?

I don't know how to post pictures on here but she wants two diamonds beside the main yellow one. But she also has a couple pictures with a bunch of little diamonds around it. What is that called?

I think the total budget I have for this is going to be around 2500-3000. And if you ladies have suggestions on who's good at settings with good cost that would be helpful too

These stones are all not the shape I had in mind and seem very small. Is it different when it's a sapphire the carat to how big it is? I really have no idea about these rocks. The last ring I got her was the engagement ring 7years ago and that is 2ct and looks pretty good on her. She would want this one to be more flashy though. She thinks it should look lij like a cocktail ring? Is that a big ring?

All things being equal, a 1 ct. sapphire will face up smaller than a 1 ct. diamond.

Settings, have a look at Ivy and Rose, they have some beautiful, price friendly ring settings. Here is a heart shaped Citrine I have so you can see the colour. The other is a 2 carat round sapphire.

That's very yellow. The pictures that my wife has the sapphire is very light almost white. Is there a difference in price there.

I sure wouldn’t mind this one. Put a halo around that baby and you’re good to go.

Oh Halo that's what it is called. But it's not round. Do you think she would care what shape? I want this to be a surprise but now I'm not so sure if it's a good idea

I was looking at that one myself yesterday, but I seriously do not need a) to spend more money and b) another squarish stone lol

I have bought two stones so far from Gary... I really like his eye.

You can then call David Klass and get a quote for a halo ring, or just present her with the sapphire to be sure she likes it and then let her choose her setting. Many of us buy stones first and hold them until we know what we want and then set.

But all her Pinterest pictures are round or oval stones. Does that make a difference to you ladies

I don’tt know because it only matters to her, you know? It is generally hard to find round sapphires (that I have seen). Can you ask her mom or a sister or anyone?

I would assume she wants round or oval.
