To judge we also need the pavilion angle and crown angle and pictures and maybe an ideal scope image.

Sorry for not including DD!

(The hyperlinked titles on the original post also lead you to the Bluenile page with the GIA/AGSL reports)

For Diamond #1:
crown angle: 34.5
pavilion angle: 41.0

For Diamond #2:
crown angle: 34.0
pavilion angle: 41.2

Bluenile unfortunately does not have pictures/idealscope. I could try and call and see if they could send me such things...

I appreciate any opinions you can give! Thanks SO SO SO much!!!!

....they won''t....

Ok, here''s where I get confused. An AGS000 with an HCA of 3???? I need someone to help me understand. The first stone scores a 1.8 but only gets EX Light Return, VG in the other 3 catagories.

There are several H/I SI1/SI2 1ct. ACA stones available at Whiteflash, I'd go that route!

Did you type the girdle right on #2? Because I don't think it can be ideal if the girdle is thin to thick.

Nevermind, I just clicked the link. This is not the AGS report that gives light performance. I'll be right back.

The cert on the link I clicked showed Cut Grade AGS 0.

ETA: OOOOOOOOOOOOOH, MY BAD, I'm sorry DS2006! It does NOT show light performance. Ok, here's where I'm still lost.......AGS0 cut grade with an HCA of 3???

Just lost my post!!!! Neither of these would fall within the AGS0 range according to the cut advisor. Even though #2 has an AGS cert, it is not the kind that has light performance. #1 is better than #2 as far as cut goes, though. I''ll take a look and see if I see anything in the .90 range.

Here, $4941 with wire/pricescope discount and almost the exact same size as #1 but a top quality cut and true AGS0:

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-684397.htm

Not only is this a better stone, but it also has a full value upgrade policy. If you are interested I''d recommend putting it on hold asap due to the fact that this size sells very quickly.
WINNER WINNER WINNER! Great find, DS! Yeah for the upgrade policy, too.

Better hurry and jump on it before some lurker gets it!

Thank you for your help ladies! To pacify my fears: .9 vs. 1.00 carat isn''t a big different right?? (to the viewer?)

Also,

Which ACA do you think is better, the H, VS2 or the F, SI1?? What about an H, SI1 for size purposes??

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-684397.htm#

or...

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-684394.htm

or... (the 1 Carat)

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-636621.htm

Also... not to sound like a negative-Nancy, but is ACA/H&A really worth it? Is this a cut that the average viewer can recognize a difference in?

Also... Financing -- Is it easy through WhiteFlash? I like this setting also:

http://www.whiteflash.com/golden-wardrobe/Gold_Details.aspx?ItemCode=ST6PW&size=6.00

Thank you thank you thank you ladies!!

No, there is not a big difference between 6.2 and 6.4mm. I think either the F SI1 or H VS2 would be better, personally. The inclusions are pretty obvious on the photo of the 1 carat H SI stone.

I am not sure, but I don''t think WhiteFlash offers financing. Let us know if that is a problem and we can suggest other options.

Decisions decisions... I don''t know whether to go for the F, SI1 or the H, VS2!!

My BF has told me to send him what I want and he''ll take care of the rest.

As far as financing... This is something he can do through our bank right? (Bank of America??) He has a bit saved, but neither of us has financed something like this before. He has good credit and a well paying job. We both have student loans that are significant enough in amount to warrant us as having ''good'' and established credit.

Any words of wisdom on financing would be much appreciated!

Then, insurance. Do you buy the ring and then go buy insurance? Can all of this be done over the internet? Houston, TX is on the way to my parents house so we travel through Whiteflash territory at least every other month if that helps.

Thanks everyone again!!!!
