Hi, I''m upgrading my .57 H vvs2 and setting for my 10th anniversary. I''m looking at two diamonds and need honest opinions on which looks best. Both are GIA. Would the size difference even be noticable

.90 G VS1
measurements 6.14-6.18x3.83
the depth% 62.2
, table% 56
, crown angle 36.0
, pavilion angle 40.6
and cutlet none

.83 H VVS2
measurements 6.00-6.04x3.72
the depth% 61.8
, table% 57
, crown angle 35.0
, pavilion angle 40.8
and cutlet none

Thanks for all your help!

The setting I''m considering is a Martin Flyer pave donut. I will probably have it bezel set rather than prong. Does anyone know if MF can do the same quality bezel as Ritani?

Thanks!

It''s been a long time since I answered any questions like this so I might be a little rusty. First, congrats on your 10th wedding anniversary and for the upgrade!! Your post intrigued me because I did nearly the same upgrade last year. We upgraded from a .572 to a .831 and there was a definite difference in size with those two stones.

So concerning these two stones: is there a significant price difference between the two? If you are concerned about the budget then that may help to sway you toward the stone that costs less. If there is no price difference and/or you are not concerned about the budget then why not go for the larger stone? The stats on these seem to be very close, so I don''t think you''d lose anything, except possibly some millimeters by choosing the smaller of the two. If you have seen them in person, is there one that you are drawn to, more than the other?

To your last point: I think if you want Ritani quality then you might consider just going ahead and ordering Ritani. There are number of posts floating around about custom vs. designer pieces and how happy people have been with the finished products. I haven''t seen Martin Flyer''s pieces in person, so I can''t speak on the up close, eyeball test quality of the workmanship, but from what I have seen on-line they have some really pretty rings. So maybe you can''t go wrong eiither way.
