You wouldn''t need a head, just a finger!

Seriously, I''d imagine you''d need the bigger one, but I''m sure a jeweller will pop up soon and give you the correct answer.

Whatever I migt say, the true answer ca only come from the jeweler making / setting this ring.

If you intend to buy a designer setting priced differently for 1 carat and 0.75 cts, than, well, I''d ask if the stone can be set on the less expensive version of the two and xactly what modifications would this entail. My hunch is that both ways are feasible.

Otherwise, there might be both .75cts and 1 ct stones of the same siye as yours - so either setting should work. I would rather use the smaller one if it is safe, just because I really do not like the finished product when the prongs of a large setting are bent over to reach a smaller stone. The other waay around involved adjusting the prongs (adding a bit to them) - and this might be more work for the setter (if and when feasibe) but the fnished ring looks better to me.

Just my 0.2. This is a question best suited for a benck jeweler. Perhaps one will care to chime in...

Wat kind of ring is this ? As much as I ca tell, the design does make a difference for the answer.

I am considering theses two rings right now but both are the same style.

A quick call to WF would probably answer your question....all depends on the diameter of your stone......a good bench jeweler would be able to size up the situation very quickly, I think.....
WF answers these questions every day...give them a call!!!
