Hi,

I've been looking for a 1 carat stone for a halo setting.
My budget on a round cut diamond(only) is $8500.
I narrowed down to two stones that I've posted earlier and,
I am waiting for actual pictures of them that I requested at the moment.
In the meantime, I want to hear some expertises if I am missing something.

So here is what I was going by:

GIA with triple ex
Color: At least F
Clarity: at least VS2
HCA: under 2

Due to my limited budget, I was only looking at the stones that normally comes without detail images such as IS, Sarin, or ASET
Is my budget too low to find a 1 carat round cuts?
Or should I lower color or clarity and find something that comes with supporting images?
I've been browsing on BN a lot lately as it seems like it's the best choice for my budget.
I am open to hear any suggestions and
It will be highly appreciated if you can leave a link to a stone that meets my need.

Thank you very much.
I'm learning everyday.

I think you need to have idealscope or ASET images. I just don't think I'd pay $8500 for a diamond I had not at least seen pictures of and have evidence of it's light return. I'll see what I can find and be back.

That is not a limited budget for a one carat stone you should be able to get a beautiful 1 carat for that much money.

Okay, is there some reason you have to have F color? Because you will have more options with G. This is a beautiful ideal cut stone that looks like it must have just missed the ACA category because the images are great.

Here is another with hearts and arrows cut:

I would far rather go to G color with an ideal cut over F color with no images and lack of assurance on cut.

After a lot of research online and in-store before my recent 1.1 G purchase, I agree with DS. IMHO the difference between an F and G is unrecognizable, and you can get more value for the money moving 'down' to a G. Both diamonds DS recommended look like they would be great options.

I agree you could likely drop to G color and not notice a difference most likely. But, since you said "at least F" here are a couple options:

This one is cut well as you can see in the photos. Good optical symmetry and ASET looks really good too.

Would like more images but I like the numbers on this one. Hiding a bit of weight in the depth but definitely not too deep.

Now IF you decide to look at G, here is a sweet one.

Here is a showroom diamond that they should have in house and may be able to get more info on.

Another larger one that has good numbers and good looking symmetry

Thank you for the links everyone

I think I set my mind to color G as suggested so I have more options to play with.
However, I lowered my budget on diamond little bit as the setting I am looking at is slightly more than I expected.
I do like the stone from WF that diamondseeker2006 recommended as well as pfunk's recommendation.
but I ended up finding this diamond:

I know there are better diamonds out there, but the pictures do look good to me.
My only concern is it's HCA is ex/vg/vg/vg with 1.8
Should I worry about fire and scintillation not being excellent?
Am I missing something? Any thoughts?

Thank you
