.73ct, very good cut, color h, vs1 is this considered decent? especially on a size 6.25? girlfriend has smaller fingers, would this look good on a smaller white gold band, cathedral setting?

Is the stone of good quality?

What kind of shape is the stone?

Can you post the report?

princess... and forgive my newbiness, what report?

Does the stone have a grading report? Which lab is it from?

GIA

Depth %: 73.9%

Table %: 74%

Girdle: Slightly thick to very thick

Culet: None

Fluorescence: None

Measurements: 4.77 x 4.67 x 3.45 mm

Length/width ratio: 1.02

Difficult to judge. The only lab that grades princess cut in light performance is only AGS. The cut grade for this stone is vendor assign and does not have any kind of equality, no way to judge.

Numbers are not that good.
Girdle is thick and symm is only good.

That diamond is smaller than you would think.. grab a ruler and draw it out and see if your satisfied

Advice

Cut= most important (how much it shines) GET AN IDEAL

Color= don''t go below H or you will be looking at a possible yellow stone. G or F are good choices. (imagine her holding the stone up to a freinds and hers look yellow)

Clarity= some may disagree with me here, but this is a silly part.. I would go with an SI1 (why pay for what you can''t see) Confirm that it is eye clean though!!

If you can''t afford the right diamond for her at this point, wait (unless you have no choice haha).. It will be something she will wear everyday for the rest of her life just make it right.

I almost rushed the decision, but i''m waiting till college and building her an amazing gemstone ring to hold her off =)

***graduating from college (sorry typo)

A round in .75 would appear dramatically bigger as well

-just something to think about, dont know if she prefers princess over round or not..

Hi avar and welcome!

Don''t worry about being a noob, we all had to start somewhere!

This obviously isn''t the best cut Princess, what we term '' commercial quality'' for cut. It depends on what you want, you can find a better cut diamond certainly but from the numbers above all we have is a chalk outline of the diamond. Have you seen it in person or is it with an online vendor? If with an online vendor then ask for photos and an ASET image if you want to pursue this one.
