I'm upgrading to a 1.24 carat (6.87 x 6.90 x 4.25) from a .70 carat (5.69 x 5.72 x 3.53). Do you think that the increase to 1.24 from .70 will be significant?

Yes.

YES, provided the diamonds you are comparing are well cut.

The 1.24 is a Whiteflash Expert Selection, and the .70 is a Brian Gavin signature.

I went from .72 to 1.03 with an increase in cut quality and I noticed a difference. So I definitely think you will as you are going a notch higher to the next tier (meaning .70 to the higher notch above 1.00 to 1.25 territory). I did reset my stone to a halo, though, but I think if even if I wouldn't have, I still would have noticed. Enjoy the jump up! :))

Then yes, they are both exceptionally well cut stones. I would have been different if the .70 was ideal and the 1.24 was a POS, lol.

That's a nice size increase, I think you will be pleased, are you going with a similar setting or changing that as well?

I am going with the basic 6 prong platinum setting (the one that's around $725).

Yes, that is a great upgrade!

Are you keeping your .7??

No, I am not keeping the .70. I was able to trade it in. It was a beautiful diamond. It was a VS1 and the crystal inclusion was clear and hard to find without basically using a microscope. Of course, cut was great. DSS set in, so that is why I'm upgrading.

Ah, well if you can't keep it trading in is the next best thing!

Very noticeable increase in size!

I haven't got it in my favourites on this computer and I'm not sure where I've seen it posted on here, but somewhere online there is a comparison tool that shows you on-the-finger sizes.

It is similar to this:

which might give some idea of sizes in lieu of the one I can't find!

That should be quite noticeable! Sounds lovely =) Please post pics after you get it - I'd love to see your new ring.

Definitely. I recently wore my aunt's 1.25 alongside my own .67 ct. The difference was obvious.
Enjoy your upgrade!

You will definitely notice a difference. Congratulations. I will be anxious to see your upgrade.

You can use this to see the difference. Change it to your finger size and the measurements of your stones.

Thanks ty, that was what I was thinking of but couldn't find! :D

I am going to try to post a picture of my new 1.24 VS2 Whiteflash Expert Selection ring. I hope it works.
