Not always. I got interested in emerald cuts partially because so many seemed to face up big for their carat weights, shallow cuts I guess. But be careful, I wound up with a yellow emerald cut that faces up very small for a 1.16 because it's so deep. From the side it looks like a molar. But it throws light around and I love it. Keep looking, what you're going to love will find you.Question: do emeralds face up much smaller than rounds (for example?)
