55 years since the death of President Kennedy

I was alive, but not quite 3. I don't remember. :(sad

I remember too- I was 6, but it was burned into my memory. It haunts me till this day

I was a new baby at that time so I have no memory of it, but i remember my parents speaking about it.

I can tell what was that first came to mind for the first commemoration of that day I had seen in the US: (approx) Good country, where lives of presidents matter this way & this much...

And John John would have been 58 this month! Such a loss for our country. :(

I was in my seventh grade math class and the announcement came over the PA system. I was 12 years old and, like all Americans (except for those with some strong, fringe politics) in love with the very handsome, sun-kissed Jack Kennedy we were so blessed to have as our president. I followed the story on television and in the newspapers (television was not what it is today, you know). I also wrote a condolence letter to Mrs. Kennedy which was answered. Everyone my age whom I knew took his death very personally. Everyone in the country was devastated.

It was - shocking.. I was in 6th grade. I wll never forget the big kids on my bus crying, then before Sunday mass I saw Ruby shoot Oswald, I remember thinking that it was not real, it looked just like fake TV shows.. I think I was changed forever.

I was five and I remember coming home from school to find my mom crying.

CNN had a 6 episode series on the Kennedy’s last night.

I remember when RFK died like it was yesterday.

One of the greatest Prez. in history. Sad to see what once was a great party to what it represents today. :(sad JFK is weeping in heaven now. I was 4 yrs old living in HK.

I was young, but I remember my mother holding my baby sister who was born Nov. 17th, and my mother was crying! She was wearing a blue robe.

And yes, one of the last great presidents.
