It is finally time to purchase :) I am looking for a round over 1 ct. My future fiance wants it to be bigger than 1.35 but I think that's not possible. I definitely want the biggest bang for our buck but also want something with a lot of fire. I am comfortable with an SI2 depending on the inclusion locations. I think I in color or maybe J would work. I am partial to Brian Gavin as I have worked with them on a few different projects and I just love their company. Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Put in 1.0-1.35 ct, D-J, IF-SI2 and your max stone budget into. James Allen, GOG, Whiteflash, and Brian Gavin... This will give you an idea of what your budget can get you.

Definitely don't skimp on cut do I would keep it to ideal and excellent cut only- so put that in your search parameters as well .

I'm on my iPhone so I can't linke to stones but only one stone came up with those parameters at James Allen- a 1.01 ct J SI2 ideal cut. I dont think with a budget of 5,000 you are getting close to 1.35 unless you are willing to sacrifice on cut and get a stone that isn't very fiery or brilliant. What is your setting budget? What if you got a nice 1.0 ct stone and put it in a nice simple halo like one on JamesAllen for 875 on white gold? It would give more size and you wouldn't have to sacrifice the cut quality of the stone.

I would call and ask BGD to find the best, largest J SI2 (or higher) in budget. Ask to talk to Leslie and see what they can do for you. Make sure to tell them you need something over a carat and that you are fine with Florescence as long as the stone suffers from no negative effects.
