I managed to go and try on some rings today. I tried on a stunning white gold u-prong 6 stone (round brilliants) ring (total 1.32ct, I would get it made 5 stone with 1.1ct). I loved the view from the side and the fact that the underneath was all open too. It made it so sparkly!
However, at the same time, I asked to look at pear diamond rings, as I have a big soft spot for these, thinking that they would only show me solitaires. However, they showed me a 5 stone pear ring (similar to the attached) which was simply stunning.
Now I am in a quandary! I have wanted a u prong ring for a long time, as I love being able to see the diamond from the side. However, the pear one is gorgeous.
My lovely husband have set me a generous budget and has said that i could get both well within the budget he set, but this feels a bit too indulgent/selfish.
Which would you choose?
