5 stone band with OEC or RB? Help me decide.

I''m hoping you can help me decide.

My wedding ring is a quarter carat round diamond. My first thought was to buy four quarter carat diamonds that are nicely cut and place them in a 5 stone ring for 1.25ctw. Then I came across Jewels by Erica Grace and found a 1.75 ctw five stone band with OEC''s. I will have to reset it in a lower profile setting, but I love how you can see flashes of rainbows from the OEC''s. So, my question is, which one should I get? My concern with the bigger OEC ring is the size. Do you think it will be too big on my finger with a size of 5.75? I don''t want the sides to overhang so that I can feel it with the adjacent fingers.

And I second Bella''s question... is the option to rest your diamond OR get the JBEG ring?

Well how sentimantal are you about your e-ring diamond? Would you wear this new ring in place of your e-ring or on your right hand if you got the JBEG one?

OK, just looked at the JBEG ring up close. That price is awesome, even factoring in the reset. I''d jump on it.

Thanks for your input, Dreamer. The diamonds do sparkle, don''t they. I''m not too sentimental about my e-ring and think I can make a little pendant out of it. You don''t think the 1.75 ctw would be too big, do you?

No way! What is the face up mm sizeof the diamonds? They are about .35 each, but since OECs are deeper I bet they do not face up so much larger than RBs that are .30s or perhaps smaller.

Lots of PSers have 5 stone bands with 30 pointers. Try a search and see what pictures come up.

Beautiful ring! Can you find a similar ring (even with just regular RB cut stones) to try on in person to see if the size fits your finger in a comfortable way?

I would ask Erica how many mm each stone is...I wear a size 7 and have a 1.25 ct 5 stone in old brilliant cuts (not OECs, mine are shallower) and it''s just the right amt of finger coverage for me. Any more and I think it would hang over my fingers too much for me...but there are some awesome ladies on here that rock even bigger five stones on even smaller fingers and it looks amazing. but you have to figure out what works for you and is comfortable.

That is a great ring and your original ering would make a smashing pendant!

The OEC ring is beautiful. It basicaly boils down to what you like better: RB or OEC?

After it''s reset, it shouldn''t overhang. I wear a 5 stone ring everyday (1.69 TCW, round brilliants) on a size 4 and it''s just small enough so that my adjacent fingers BARELY touch the side diamonds when my fingers are completely flush together.
