Morning all! It''s super early I know. Heeey Gwen! How''s everything going with your work? Did you meet your goal before your SO showed up?
5.gif
Hi, Sarah, thank you so much for the shout-out! You are such a sweetheart.
5.gif
I didn''t get *quite* as many words in the chapter I was writing as I had hoped I would, but 4400 is sorta close to 5000, and it''s only the rough draft, ANNNND I am sure I left out some things that my supervisor will remind me to include. So I''m not too worried about it. My visit with J was wonnnnnnnderful--he only just left about 1 1/2 hours ago (early this morning so he could work in the afternoon; he lives about a 4.5-hour drive away). I cried as usual when he left, but last night I booked a train ticket to go see him in about 3 weeks, and that always makes it easier, to know when we''ll be together next.
1.gif

Food-wise, I''m not sure what''s going on with me...I was having issues a couple of weeks ago, where I couldn''t keep anything down, and now I''m having that problem again. My doctor thinks I''m making myself ill from stress. Not good.
40.gif
But hopefully I can alter my thinking to make myself less stressed...? I am going to try, anyway!
1.gif

Your goals sound really good, Sarah! I''ve gotten into the habit of carrying a smallish water bottle around in my purse with me which I refill at water fountains and things, and it helps me drink water throughout the day while I''m doing whatever. And I need to have a goal for myself to do some exercise every day too! You went to the beach last week? Mmmm, that sounds heavenly! How was the weather when you were there? Oh, and last but certainly not least, rock out your LSAT practice! Are you doing practice tests or questions in a practice book? I have a couple of friends who''ve graduated law school who told me the LSAT wasn''t as scary as they had thought it would be. I am sure you will do great!
1.gif

Harleigh: I hope you got some sleep and I especially hope your Open House goes well tonight!
4.gif
Sending some PS dust your way for nice cooperative parents that are interested in their children (buut not bossy!).
4.gif

Gwen: I am glad you had a great visit! But sorry he had to go.
39.gif
I know how that feels to some degree. When I transferred FI and I were at different schools and it was really hard to adjust from seeing him every day to only on most weekends. And I agree knowing when you will see them again definitely helps. At least you got close to your goal, that''s not that far at all. So I vote it as meeting the goal, haha. Definitely when you''re less stressed it''ll be easier. I''m still having a bit of a hard time, but it was nearly impossible during exams for me which was a few weeks ago. I ate a lot of donuts.
14.gif
6.gif
The practice is going pretty well!
36.gif
They''re letting me do it at my internship when I am not busy, so I am practicing every day. So that kind of guarantees I practice which isn''t bad. I have like 10 books, haha. So I am working my way through them. I am going to do my second practice test this weekend, so we''ll see how that goes! Monday is Memorial Day so I have the day off who knows maybe I''ll get to do two practice tests.
36.gif
Thank you for asking.
5.gif
I am feeling a bit more confident the more I practice which is great!

Haha, ok, if you think that is close enough to count as meeting my goal, then I shall consider it so! Feels much better to say I met my goal than just came close to it anyway.
3.gif

Oh, that''s very cool about you getting to practice during the slow times at your internship! I am sure you are going to rock that test out! When will you take it? Do you know yet what sort of law you''d like to practice?

Gwen, it could be a stomach ulcer. I''m so sorry that this is happening to you... Stress sucks! When I stress, my stomach is the first place it''s felt. So odd how you can actually stress an organ. Hopefully things will calm down soon.

Sarah - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P7uHMaLPPE&feature=related - It''s a very crude video but it shows position one, two and three of ballet. They are doing piles on the barre (pile, pile, grande pile). The grande piles are the killers. The more you turn out (at your hip to make your feet create a straight line), the more of the inner thigh you get.. But don''t focus on the turn out. Just start with the movements - even do the arms to stretch a litte..

OK, so last night I blew my healthy eating! I discovered Pizza Huts Chicken Alfredo Pasta and OMG I am hooked....

38.gif

I had taco salad and water for lunch and I am having tuna on salad for dinner....BORING!!

Lol, thanks for the arm tips. Now if only I can get motivated.
14.gif

Hi Sarah! Thanks for the dust...it worked! Open House went off without a hitch and everything was FANTASTIC! It was a great night, but now I''m pooped, so it''s off to bed again! I feel like a HUGE weight has been lifted from my shoulders, and tomorrow is a whole new day!

I hope everyone else had a fantastic day today! Nighty night!

Happy Friday!
5.gif

Gwen: Stop stressing, don''t make yourself sick! Wow that sounds totally hypocritical coming from me, I guess I shouldn''t even go there. I am like a big ball of stress over big things. Anyway I take the LSAT on June 16, wish me luck! I am def. going to ask for tons of PS dust that weekend. It''s on a Monday I think. Right now I am thinking of going somewhere in the govt. or to a big firm and doing essentially corporate law. International law is interesting to me as well. So ahhh I guess I don''t actually know..
40.gif
. I guess have ideas of where I am interested though and that''s something!

Stephanie: I feel silly now! Of course I know this exercise...
14.gif
. Looks super fun!

iwannaprettyone: I totally feel you.
38.gif
So hard to stay motivated.

Harleigh: That is great news!!!
36.gif
36.gif
My parents used to really like going to Open Houses, so I am sure you made a lot of people happy! Have a great Friday woohoo the hard part of the week is over! And I assume you get Monday off, too. Woo!!

Let''s see I ate a decent breakfast and lunch annnd kind of blew it at dinner. We ended up not eating at home after-all.
39.gif
And yes I was totally a party to this, so I guess that cry face only goes so far. I just didn''t feel like having the only thing we had to cook so off to Bonefish Grill we went. So good..so unhealthy.
18.gif
We tried to make up for it by going for a walk when we got back, but something tells me we needed to talk about 4 miles. And we definitely didn''t walk that much, haha. Anyway, I will try to do better today. I am still going strong on water and diet drinks. So my goal for next week will probably be to increase milk.

Non-related Question: What are your plans for this weekend? Anything fun?

Happy Friday everyone I will talk to you later!

Going to see MOH (my entire bridal party lives out of state) and going shopping. Basically using this weekend as a chance to do a ton of wedding stuff.. Might even get around to registering..

Am trying very hard not to stress! It''s all worry over money too--once I''ve got a job lined up for after grad school, I will feel so much better. Trouble is, who knows how long that will take to get!

Haha, June 16th is a big day for me too--it''s when the rough draft of my dissertation is due!! We can get fairy dusted to oblivion together, Sar!
36.gif
I think it''s so cool that you have so many options open to you as to what type of law you can get into! Very cool stuff. And I don''t know about the others, but I know corporate law brings home lots o'' moolah.

I haven''t really been reporting in since J was visiting from Sunday to yesterday morning, but we went out and did a bunch of walking while we went sightseeing, so I got a lot of exercise while he was here. And I just walked up to the market and back, so that was about 2 miles today (just at a guess, I''d say J and I probably walked about 12 or 15 miles through the heritage sites and the villages we visited). I''ve got some Ramen noodle soup, crackers, and some soda to keep me going until I can have normal food again. Which I would like to be soon!!!

Oh, and as for the weekend plans, will just be writing my paper, and maybe having a brunch with some friends on Sunday (if I am healthy by then). Oh, and procrastinating here on PS too. It''s Memorial Day on Monday, isn''t it? So you guys should be having days off from work and going to BBQs and things! Oh, I am envious.
1.gif

Ok, so I skipped dinner last night and now I am hungry and weak.
8.gif

Sorry that the stress level is getting higher, just hang in there girls.

Anyone used sparkpeople.com it is a free website food journal type of thing. You can look up calorie and fat contents etc and add them into your journal. I love it, you should check it out.

Gwen, this may be making your problems worse. Ramen has a ton of sodium. Something like 40% of your daily intake.

Hope all this stress will subside soon!

Yeah I''ve heard it is great - I signed up for it a while back but didn''t keep it up - maybe I should try again!

So I organized my gym membership - starting June 1 I will be able to start working out - I am off work mid June so I will have lots of time to go.

Yay!

Oh, I actually have only be eating the noodles plain (they are much cheaper than normal noodles). Been throwing away the flavour packets altogether. But thanks for keeping an eye out for me!

Gwen, you are soooo cute in ur avatar!

Chiming in late on this one!

Finally getting back in a good routine after being sick all of last week. We have walked to work every day (just under 1 mi each way) and we''ve been eating well. We went to the gym twice this week (3 times if you count last Friday night).

Exercise
Last Friday, I did a mixture of arm, shoulder, back and leg weights for 35 minutes, and then 8 minutes hardcore on the elliptical. On Tuesday, I did 35 minutes of the same sequence of weights. Last night, I swam 1/2 mile. I am hoping to do some more weights or jog tomorrow morning - haven''t decided which. We have D''s big birthday dinner tomorrow night so I will be splurging, and then a road trip all day Sunday so we''ll probably eat fast food. I''ll try to work out again on Monday. It will be our first full day with our new pug, but I should be able to jump out for 35-45 minutes to get in a workout.

I''m feeling more toned, although I don''t think you can really tell in the mirror. I really like how it usually feels about 15 minutes into cardio, when I feel like I really can''t do anymore, but push myself and just do it. It makes me feel stronger. I also like my emphasis on weights. I can do weights longer than I can do straight cardio, yet I still get my heartrate pumping!

Eating
I joined Let''s Dish on Tuesday night and made some really healthy meals. On Wednesday night we had their black bean enchiladas, and last night we had their mojito shrimp with cilantro lime rice. We think this will be a good option for us - sometimes we get home from work around 9 pm and just order a pizza or thai. But now we''ve got yummy frozen food that usually heats in 45 minutes (same as delivery time for pizza!) so I''m hoping we will really make use of it.

I did have a splurge lunch yesterday - massive egg salad sandwich on hoagie with bacon and avocado. But I felt SO gross afterward - seriously bloated - so I think that''s my body telling me to cut down on the portion sizes!

I bought some mini bagels and light cream cheese. I hate depriving myself of a morning bagel, but this portion size is much better for me.

That''s it for now!

But, uh, I just changed it (literally like a minute ago), so was that for the new one or the old one?

ETA: Hmm, the new one is a bit blurry...may have to fiddle with it a bit...

Awww, danke, dahlink! I think I''ve already told you before, but you are adorable in your avatar too! AND you TOTALLY look AMAZINGLY gorgeous in your wedding dress--well, honestly, in ALL the wedding dresses. Ever thought about modeling them? You make them all look so good!
1.gif

Hey, Krissie- I love the Let''s Dish idea but there''s none in my area!

Does anyone know of a similar concept but in the Bay Area? Preferrably on the peninsula?

Good evening/morning all! I am late because FI is here for the weekend, so we've been playing around with the Wii Fit!

Stephanie: Your weekend sounds like it's going to be great!! Have a great time!

Gwen: Glad to know I'm not the only one stressing! Haha. But we'll work it out, we can do this! That is so true about corporate law. So much
22.gif
22.gif
, and a lot of hours to go with it. So we'll have to see on that one I guess. It sounds like you and J had a great time! And yep Monday is Memorial Day woohoo! I am excited! I love your new avatar, btw. J is a hottie if you don't mind me saying so, and you two look so happy!
5.gif
And I agree you two are so cute!

iwannaprettyone You need to eat, missy! Not trying to lecture you of course.
2.gif
Just saying! I know how you feel though. Sometimes I forget to eat. I go back and forth between forgetting to eat or overeating. Trying to find the happy medium. I like Sparkpeople! I tried it recently and it's great!

October: That is awesome about your gym membership! So exciting!

Krissie: I am sorry you were sick! It seems like a lot is going around. I know my allergies have been going bonkers!
23.gif
I am pretty miserable. It sounds like you've been doing a lot of exercising, that is awesome! And omg I want to see pics of your new pug. I love puppies. I know what you mean about feeling better before you see the results. You know, sometimes you don't notice it, but other people do. So maybe it's happening slowly but surely. Oh and I also
30.gif
mini bagels! ETA: I found your pug photos!

Well I didn't go for my evening walk. Oh well. But I did play a bunch of Wii fit! It is awesome. I love it. So many fun exercises and whatnot! If you're in tip top shape then it probably won't really feel like much for you. But I am in horrible shape, so for me it's a workout. My balance is also horrible because I've had knee issues since 3rd grade and back issues since high school. So it's really helping me! This is what my physical therapist was trying to make me do, except it's fun and I actually want to do it. I ran in place during the aerobic running exercise and didn't even feel like I was running! It was awesome.
4.gif
On a side note, my Mom has officially lost 10 lbs now at Weight Watchers! I am really proud of her, and I am feeling kind of left behind since I am stagnant currently. I need to get on the ball!
