Hey Neatfreak -- yes, I know Leon is probably out of my budget range but of course, it can''t hurt to ask right? A while back I had gotten a quote for a 3-stone halo from him (the Montpassier -- it was just over $7K) -- very labor intensive. If he can''t do it that''s cool, I can find a nice alternative. The Beverly K ring that Gypsy posted from Pearlman''s actually might work really well. This one:

Bill quoted me $2500 in platinum with any size center -- that would leave me with $1500 for a center sapphire. The ones posted here from ags would totally work in a really nice size.

Thoughts?

Yeah...his prices can jump really fast!

As for the BK...Love that idea!!!! The setting is gorgeous and as long as you take your time picking the right stone the ring will be fab.

Thanks Neatfreak -- was thinking the same thing!

Logan Sapphire -- I am perusing the Quest site and cannot find the setting you have -- was it a custom piece?

Thanks!

I''m not Logan Sapphire, she didn''t have it made, it was made previously went on sale and she bought it. They made a simialr setting for me, it has an asscher in the center and is a RHR. I adore Logan''s ring!!

Kaleigh your ring is famous here! Love it. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

BTW -- I love the way you spell your name! My niece is the same way -- very unique.

Yes, all the links to Londonblue''s rings were x''s, but he posted more pictures on the thread that I linked for you. There were questions asked about the cost, etc., I think, on that thread. I think Quest will be more affordable than Leon. I love the Beverly K rings, but if the ring will later become a RHR, I would not go with a round solitaire. Here''s another Bev. K that I love:

Cocosgirl -- You seem to be on to something so ... Not sure if you would be interested in something like this but I found it online while looking for something else today and thought you might like it. It definitely has appeal and a blingyness to it.

Here is a link

I thought the antiquey, split shank look with the east-west set stone was really interesting and will give great finger coverage!

I wouldn''t do tanzanite for a ring to be worn a lot. It is soft and scratches and chips easily. Sapphire is soooo much more durable. I''d really stick with sapphire for an e-ring.

I was more suggesting this particular setting for the sapphire she may be interested in ... I think it is presently set with tanzanite but I figure they can change that if she likes the setting, right?

Oh, sure! Simon G is gorgeous. It may be pricey, though.

That emerald cut ring is to die for -- the I1 does scare me a little -- and it''s is kinda out of our price range :-(

The tanzanite ring is interesting . . . I think it''s a little modern for my taste. Curious why the bev k ring (as a round) wouldn''t be cool for a RHR?

The Danhov ring is on my list too! So many choices . . .

If you subscribe to www.whitesgems.com free newsletter you can view a BEAUTIFUL 2+ (6.7mm x 6.7mm) ct bl sapphire asscher that is $950 before the member discount. It is really beautiful...I want it!!!! I don't think you can see it if you do not subscribe to the letter...it is not on the general page..

I believe this setting (that I tried on in a local shop) would be several hundred under budget. I tried it on without the tourmaline in it but the pic looks like a gorgeous color (with a blue sapphire I wouldn't like the pink color). I'm not sure but I think the stone size was about 6mm? It's delicate, though large (imho) on my size 7 finger... though many might not think it large. The diamonds are very sparkly and I think it's really unique and beautiful with that little accent of pink diamonds in rose gold... very subtle but adds that extra oompf.

just realized the price I was told was referring to a ring that didn't have the center tourmaline.

That setting is beautiful and that seems like a great price to me! It looks so delicate and I bet it would be gorgeous with a big ol'' sapphire. The one thing I would say is that I really like side stones outside a halo for extra finger coverage, and you probably would too since you''re shooting for blingy coverage. I don''t know if you''ve done much trying on yet, but if you can, I would try on both styles of halos and see which you prefer. I thought I would like just a regular halo with a thin blingy shank, but on my hand I definitely preferred the halos that had sidestones outside of the halos.

It looks like you''re well on your way to a beautiful and blingy engagement ring! I can''t wait to see what you choose!

I would snatch up this beautiful over 1 carat stone!!! http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/F-I1-Premium-Cut-Round-Diamond-1107587.asp It''s a FIC and eyeclean according to the JA folks. I considered it myself and this stone is just too amazing that someone here should buy it.

After the ps discount you would have enough left over to buy a simple micropave setting and the ring would look very high end and more expensive than it is. Here is a cute setting that looks similar to the cartier pave setting: http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_412-2072.asp

Woo Coscogirl, feel your pain :) Have you been on The Natural Sapphire Company website...They have a beautiful White RB 1.61ct Sapphire for $640.00..........Looks BEAUTIFUL!!! then you could have it placed in Beverly K setting...WOWOWOWOWO!! I just ordered this ring in platinum from Pearlmans for my 1.10ct RB (Will take 4-6 weeks)...

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!! Leon e-mailed me this morning and he''s got TWO, count em TWO, pave halo settings in my budget!!! (Ok, one is slightly higher but I think I can squeeze and extra $500 out of DBF.) Here are links to them -- I''m leaning towards the one with the square stones in the shank:

First Pave Halo

2nd pave halo and my fave

Now I do still LOVE the Beverly K ring -- out of the three -- what do you all think?

I am doing back flips for you!! Woo Hoo!!

I love the second Leon!!

Definitely the 2nd one - it's amazing, and talk about a great price!

ETA: I'm probably a snarky, suspicious, terrible person, but ... with V-Day coming up, it seems worth mentioning: there have been a couple of heart-broken posts from people who've found great deals and been "sniped" by lurkers; if you really love that one, it might be worth asking him to put it on hold until you can try it on.

I have to vote for the second Leon you posted (with the square stones in the shank) your fave. I love that ring. The only problem I foresee is that finding a good round sapphire maybe harder than finding a cushion or oval (not that it cant be done, but it may take longer)... but something that good is worth the wait anyway

Also, just wanted to join in the fun and post my ring since it was under your budget and it is a sapphire center stone (yellow which I know you dont want, but just wanted to throw it out there):

I''m sooooo excited for you. I love the 2nd one. Woohoo!!!!
