I am looking to get a simple platinum tiffany style setting for my stone :)

I have heard that with the 6 prong setting you can''t get a wedding band that will sit evenly with the ring on her finger. Is this true? Are there any particular kinds of 6-prong settings that I should look for that give me leeway for allowing this? Any input would be appreciated. It''s either 4 or 6 for me, the stone 1.9 carats and I really like the look the 6 prong gives the stone. Is it really that hard to get a wedding band that will sit flush with a 6?

Thanks!

Personally I have worn this style in the past for some time, and haven''t had a problem with it sitting flush with a wedding band, I am sure some of the others will chime in too.

I have a similar size stone and although I am currently having it re-set into a semi bezel setting, I wore a 6 prong setting for quite a while and found it to sit really well against my wedding ring. I don''t think you should have any problems with a 6 prong - whilst it might not sit completely flush against the wedding band, the space (if there is one) will be minimal

I have a 6 prong and I had my jeweler shave down the prongs on 2 sides so my band would sit flush. It had the added benefit of making the head look more graceful as well.

It also depends on how tall/thick your band is. Some thicker bands will have no problem with a band sitting flush.

Some rings are thicker then others, so the head sits high or low. This makes a big difference. It all depends on how far away up from your finger the bottom of the head is mounted if you know what I mean. If you buy the right ring then you shouldn't have a problem finding a matching band that sits flush.

yes, you can have a band sit flush with a 6 prong setting. it can depend which w-band you want. are you looking for a plain band or a diamond one?
