4 cttw diamond studs: jacket?

Hi, We recently upgrade my solitaire. I’m going to find a matching diamond to original 2 ct diamond diamond and wear as studs. I currently have 2 cttw diamond studs. Wondering thoughts on making these 2 cttw into drop jackets for the 4 cttw studs? Too much??

Posted 2 examples: 1st pic: the 2ct diamond would be the stud and the 1ct would be the drop. 2nd pic: this is just an example of a drop, there could be no halos, just a martini or 4 prong set diamond; again the 2 ct stud and 1ct on drop

I’m parting with my right hand eternity band stack cause I think it takes away from my other pieces (I posted a pic, the top band needs to be resized, hence the red finger). So my everyday pieces would be my wedding set, tennis bracelet and studs. All are larger ct weights.

I really like the idea of making drops that you can “interchange” with other studs. You could then have a pearl, sapphire or other gem “stud” and mix and match!
I prefer the second option or personally think that a drop that will “dangle freely” ie on a chain rather than a solid post (as in photo 1). I always think the movement of such a dangle helps catch the light and that means more sparkle!

The style is so stern & classic, I do not find it anywhere close to 'too much'. These things only look real in the right context.

I love interchangeable earring jackets. Maybe having a longer chain on the jackets? Then, it drips elegantly.

I have pave set jackets and I love them. I’ll imagine that single stone jackets will be stunning. Second having movement for the bottom dangle part. The movement will really make them sparkle. Mine:

I love these so much I bought the bottom set in drop shape when seller had stock for those. Bottom left is the original config. Have lotsa pearls studs and both sets are great with them.
