My jeweler has been working on several projects for me repurposing pieces I no longer wear. I picked up a 5 stone ring preloved about 2 years ago but it was in white gold and I prefer platinum. Through a family jeweler, I had it reset into platinum but I felt the diamonds were set too close together. It was an experiment with 3D printing but I just didn’t like the end result. It has been sitting in my jewelry box for a year and I thought it would be better to do something new with it.

Last summer, I also picked up (8) .25 carat violet blue sapphires from a lapidary that has done several gemstone projects for me now.

I wanted to make a station necklace but in a more sprinkled design using the 8 sapphires, the (5).25 diamonds and I had a pair or .30 carat earring that I never wore from many years ago. They were all in the same near colorless range.

I laid out the stones on some paper because I wanted all the stations forward of my shoulders because I have long hair and I would not be doubling it. I have a few shorter diamond necklaces and I like to wear the two together.

There are 15 stations in total and each station is around .25 carats (4 mm) in a 36 inch white gold necklace. The color is great to wear with jeans and my aqua in my Avatar.

Here it is! I saved quite a bit of money reusing what I had and mixing it with gemstones. Yes, it does flip a bit but it doesn’t bother me and the stones do not poke me from the other side.

Your station necklace is really lovely, congratulations! I am feeling pretty inspired from this. I think it's very nice that you were able to repurpose stones you had to make a beautiful new piece. Did you take those glamour shots?

I love the station necklace. Casual yet classy. :)

I really love your new necklace! I think it is so elegant. Love the blue and white! So nautical, my fave colors together, especially with summer coming. Enjoy!

It was kind of hard to fit the whole thing into a frame but I tried. Not quite as easy as the rings. I am sure you have some gemstones and can do much the same. It was a lot cheaper using what I had vs paying for it already made.

Love it!

So gorgeous!

This is beautiful and truly a classic, I love the mix of colors and irregular spacing. I have been tempted to have one made to layer with my everyday pendant. Would you post a picture of you wearing it layered with something of yours?

Gorgeous! Congrats that this is finished. Would love to see neck shots where you layer this necklace with another.

Really gorgeous!

I just love this! It's so pretty, what a wonderful way to repurpose your beautiful stones!

My goodness, this is lovely and so wearable and layer-able. I would love to have a piece like this. I know this is said often, but it seems particularly timely now, wear it in good health!

its really pretty
you did a fantastic job.
im sure you will get a lot of wear out of it
its trully lovelly

Fantastic, something you can wear every day without feeling you might be overdoing it, and yet it's still absolutely gorgeous!

I haven’t had much chance to wear it out yet because of the quarantine but I will post a pic tomorrow. I have a solitaire and an antique halo that I can wear with it.

So pretty, such a great idea to re purpose, especially when your not wearing the ring.

Love this and love this length. It could even be wrapped for the look of two strands!

Very pretty way to repurpose stones!!!!

Ok...here are a few pictures. It is surprisingly hard to take a picture of a long and short necklace at the same time. I made it just long enough so it didn’t go past a button on a jacket.

White shirt just so you can see how the layering looks. I am 5’10 so It is hard for me double but the necklace can certainly be long enough for people to double. I actually feel like it looks more casual when I wear two necklaces that are more dainty. The other necklace is about a 1 carat solitaire.

My 12-year old daughter told me to stop doing the Kardashian mom poses all over the house! It was rainy outside so I was trying to find some decent light.

Nothing like some Happy Socks to brighten up your day. Very popular brand from when I lived in Sweden.

Beautiful!! Thanks for pics. I’m the same height and while I can easily carry off bold bracelets and rings I prefer dainty necklaces. The layering is very nice.

Lovely! Elegant and beautiful.
What a great repurposing of stones.:appl:

Love this, it looks great--what a wonderful look! Congrats!

I absolutely love your station necklace! The irregular spaces and placements are perfect. A diamond and yellow sapphire version is on my long-term wishlist and I think, after seeing yours, that I’d prefer an irregular, sprinkle version. Thanks for sharing!

I think you can literally use any combination of stones this way. I paid about 1/3 the cost of making this by reusing what I had as well. You can also change the spacing higher up the chain depending on the length of your hair and if you wear it up or down. It really helped to draw it out and I will get more use out of it this way.

I am adding pics from my friend’s necklace too. We both had stones we wanted to reuse into something to be worn more often. She did this one in all diamonds and she spaced her’s a bit higher and wears her’s doubled.

It's mine, and yes, I LOVE it! I'm pretty sure my diamonds were smaller, there are 18 of them and I think the total carat weight was around 2.25. Also, I melted the 18K ring they were in, (the center stone broke many, many years ago), and that offset the cost of the necklace :). A big thank you to @swaye2010 for teaching me how to re-purpose jewelry!

Love this so much!! I love repurposing stones and these are really amazing resets!!!

Your necklace is really lovely! I love how you have them all up front!:kiss2: and it will go with everything, getting lots of wear!

SO I need to break for a second...

@Snow White when I hit your avatar my mouth dropped open. You have a thread on this ring of yours?

Oh my goodness, I LOVE this necklace! What a great idea. You got the spacing and size perfectly -- I love the "artfully scattered" look of the gems.

This type of necklace is going on my wishlist now too!
