I''ve narrowed down my search and I have 3 stones from 3 different PScope vendors. I''m sure you skilled searches can find my sources pretty easily but I''d like to get as many thoughts between the three on quality and price.

I''ve heard the arguments about dropping color and clarity but for my own satisfaction I want an F VS1-VS2, so please refrain from suggesting other stones that don''t include these specs.

So what does everyone think? Which would you choose for yourself? For your girl?

I would choose Stone #2.

First off all three are great by their numbers! So chances are you wouldn't be disappointed with any of them.

But in terms of price, carat weight and number combination, #2 has the best in my opinion. The carat weight is the 2nd highest, but the price is $800 lower than the most expensive (#1) which is not a tiny amount. The angles are excellent when paired with the table, depth, as the HCA score indicates.

When you are splitting hairs between amazing stones, it's time to get really nitpicky. $$ comes into play, big time...as does carat weight for me, and numbers. I think #2 has the best blend of everything and it's the cheapest too which is a huge perk IMO.

Have you seen scope images of all of them? That will help to compare..please post if you have them.

I'd suggest flipping a coin....they are that similar. With all of them being fairly equal, I'd say go for the best buy - #2.

I'd suggest that you get Ideal scope images, though.....that might help shed light on the decision process.

I agree -- #2 is the best value. But it wouldn't hurt to check the idealscope pics.

Also...I assume the diameter diminsions are pretty close since all the other numbers are so similar, but that is an often overlooked number, showing what size the stone will look like face up. it is amazing how much they vary for seemingly same size stones.

I tried snooping around. I wanted to know diameters on your candidates. I didn't find #1, so it might not still be available???

I liked the 1.175 carat better also. Great value, and the diameter is a tad bigger than the 1.15 carat.

Agree on seeing pics and IS before making a final decision.

Well, tough choice: do you flip a regular coin twice, or do you find a three-sided one? The results would be statistically different, you know... Of course, the difference would only be visible in terms of probability convergence, but... every number makes a difference!

Ok, that's a joke. Unless you are after a mathematical model of a diamond, these have a good chance to look just the same. There are enough details left aside by those numbers to make this probable rather than certain. Most PS sellers could provide some direct measure of optical performance to settle the debate (some scope image, preferanbly the same type for the three) and testify rather candidly about the qualities of their diamonds, return policies in place and all.

How about further inquiry? If getting to see all is too much trouble (which it probably is) I would get whichever, trust my feeling for the quality of it's cut and go for whatever conclusion direct inspection leads to. Since diamonds seem the same, I would just go for the seller most likely to replace the stone with a better one, if worse comes to worse, and offer advice about possible choices to save me time. Just my 0.2 and your $$$$, of course!
