Creation thread here, including CADs and stuff:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/demantoid-3-stone-ring-project.131038/

This is a ring that had a rather long gestation time. I found a ring design that I loved, through Wink (Winfield's) sourced three stones from Pala International, and then did nothing for a number of years. I finally got off my behind and here's the result.

Unfortunately, it's been wet and raining here so the pictures are not that great. I can't wait to see how the demantoids perform in sunshine!

Specs: Center stone is a 1.24 ct (6.2mm) demantoid garnet; sidestones .94 ctw (4.5mm each) demantoids. Ring is platinum, size 4.5.

The inspiration was from a late Victorian ring photo I found on a British jewelry site whose name is lost in the mists of time.

With flash. You can sorta see the rainbow sparkles of the demantoids:

Fabulous ring Hest! I would love to see more pictures too.

I do not care about colored stones, but this ring changed my mind. It is a perfect timeless and stunning ring. Love the vibrant, deep green colors. Wonder if I can have a similar ring with diamonds replacing the green stones (since I do not have any) and small colored sapphires replacing your small diamonds? Then again, the visual effect may not be as dramatic. Your ring got the properly matched and perfect stones. It is very difficult to duplicate. Too bad for me.

Beautiful ring, I love the color of those stones!

WHat a great ring! Its lovely!!

Love the ring...Love the color and intensity of the green...love the design,

but do you have to call it a DEMANTOID? It sounds like something you have to see a proctologist for...I am just saying...can''t you call it green envy, green goddess or well, something else?

Just joking around. Have never heard of that stone. You have me intrigued...

A few more. This one rather atmospheric.

And a bad diffuse sun shot. The sun keeps going away so I snapped this one quickly. It's rather frustrating not being able to get the fire of the actual stones.

Thanks, all, for your kind comments. And thanks to Wink for all this help!

Fancy, the original inspiration photo, which you can get to in my first post, is sapphires in yellow gold. That might give you a better idea of the versatility of the design.

Looks great!!!!!

Whew! A bit of real sun:

BWAH! You can blame the guy who named them. From what I understand, it comes from an old German word that means "diamond."

Quite lovely!!! That is a gorgeous green!!!! It looks great on your finger!!!

It''s gorgeous! All I could afford in a demantoid was a 3mm round stone, so I''m jealous!

that is just divine!!! GORGEOUS!

Hest, it''s lovely! Such a nice color.

Gorgeous!! Awesome colour!!!

I really really really love those stones.

Okay, last attempt at a sun shot. (I'm just no Kenny!) I'm finding it really impossible to show how bright and lively the stones are.
