3 stone AVC ring

Yes Amcor said they could make it unplated then a local store could plate it or I could send it back to them and let them do it.

I really don't know why I am having such a hard time deciding what to do with the metal color? I did check on a quote for platinum and palladium.(Amcor does not use palladium for custom designs)

This is not my hand in these pictures but they are my stones. I thought someone might have more insight metal wise after seeing them from this view.
My skin has a lot of orange to it, when I tried on a rose gold ring it blended in to the point of where you almost couldn't tell I had a ring on at all.

Also I think these stones once bezel set will give me nice finger coverage, I think the finger size in these pictures are 8, and I wear a 9.5.

Okay I need some serious advice, I am in panic mode almost in tears. Here is the deal. Before I picked out the above three stones, I had my heart set on a AVC band or maybe even a AVR band. After finding out that GOG did not have any AVC bands available and they are not sure when they will I caught a glimpse of Packrats ring. I decided in one day that a three stone would work, one because I am impatient and two because I was not sure that once I got a band that I will still have that need for something blingy and bigger. But now, I can't help but wonder and think a band would be fine for now, I have been married almost 3 years and I don't wear a ring at all.

My other vision was a AVC solitaire in the JbEG Lynda setting. (which that will for sure be down the road if ever,so that idea/option is out)

Something is freaking me out about moving forward with the 3 stone idea, I don't know if it's I am worried of the size of stones, or if it's just spending the money on myself. When reality is that money could go to other things that are quit frankly more important right now.

Since you mentioned there are other areas that need money more than this project, I think it wise to quit this project and come back only when other financial obligations are settled. Selling the ring later usually results in a loss. I hope you're still within the return period for the diamonds.

Possible option number two:

5 stone AVC .31 K for a wedding band.
A little more money but its what I really wanted. The stones I have now are only .2 bigger than the ones I could have for this band, so this makes me think the 3 stone would have been to small for me. :errrr:

If you're unsure, put it on hold. I'd stick the money to the side and just wait a little bit. Maybe even not look at rings, do things to stay occupied for a little while and then come back later and revisit the idea, see what really speaks to you-three stone or the band. I can completely understand the panic of spending money on yourself-I was almost to the point of vomiting a couple times, and had myself in such a tizzy I was close to panic attacks. Unless the lottery falls into our laps, there will always be "better" and "more important" things to spend the money on---to the extent that you could theoretically talk yourself out of *everything* nice for *yourself* for the rest of your life. I did it for many years and it felt good (still feels good, when I see my ring) to get something for ME ME ME ME, even tho I could've remodeled the kitchen and bathroom and probably still had money left over, for the cost of it. It's ok to buy something nice for yourself, I promise.

Okay, now what? 3 stone or 5 stones?

The three stones look bigger than I imagined and I love the 5 stones for a band.

I know you dont want it graduated but swapping the middle three out with those larger ones isn't in the cards?

luvsdmb, that 3 stone bezel pear-- is that the ring from the Titanic? I saved that pic on my computer years ago-- really love that look. Good luck on deciding which way to go. I'm sure it will be lovely no matter what!

I don't think one is better than the other they are just different looks. Either a 5 stone (which I wouldn't put bezels around because it will possibly be too long for your finger across it) so a band diamonds all the same size the way GOG does them which will look like a band, or you could bezel all 5 stones but 2 will end up down between the fingers on either side, unless they are smaller - or a 3 stone bezelled which will look more like a dress ring or general ring. You need to figure out which one appeals to you more, which one you would wear more and which one is most practical for your lifestyle. I like all the options it just depends on what look you are after.

Alternative suggestion ... do you have your heart set on a setting already? If not, and you're amenable to going custom, you could ask the jeweler to design something like the 1930s add-a-diamond styles. They'd have nicely engraved squares at the ends, and when the occasion provided itself, they'd have the jeweler pierce it out and bead-set the new stone. If you have a sense of the size of the last two that you'd like to acquire for your next anniversary or somesuch .... :naughty:

My brain is numb, I really don't know. That is a nice thought, I did see a graduated avc 5 stone on GOG site and it was pretty. But I really did not ever consider a graduated ring.
I'm just wondering if the three stone in person in the bezel setting will be enough, will I be content with it. Which ever ring I decide on is it for me for a really long time. (unless I'm paying)
There is also the option of going with the 5 stones and doing a bezel setting? Or the original setting that I instantly loved.

I need to know my decision tomorrow morningg. I am headed out for the night, so I will be checking in later to continue this journey.
I am really hoping some time away will help me decide.

Thanks everyone.

How many mm's across are the five and how many mm's across are the three?

I, myself, would rather have bigger stones, and I'd rather have stones closer to the same size, regardless if it's three or five.

Jeez those AVC's are gorgeous..not that I'm biased or anything but man...

The three stones are about 12.2 mm spread. I don't know yet about the five stones.

I decided to go with the five stones.

They are 3.87 or 3.9 x 4mm

Great choice luvsdmb!! I love 3 stones and 5 stones, but I think with the AVCs 5 stones is the way to go!!! Congrats! It will be awesome! I frequently drool over Rosebloom's, so cannot wait to see yours!!!

May I ask a question, in your post on the previous page, there is 3 stone with a pear in the middle with delicate milgrain... is there a thread on that ring on PS? Or is there any info anywhere?

Luv: I think this is going to be gorgeous!!! I can't wait to see it.. of course I will want one then :)

best of luck!

That pear with round sides is a relic of the titanic.

Good... I was going to vote 5 stone but I see you already decided! I think it will be lovely!

Thanks everyone!!

I've started the search for how to have them set, and what type of metal to use since they are K colored.

Feel free to share if you have any ideas, pictures are also welcomed. Ring size will be 9.5

Thanks

I have decided to go with a basic shared prong band. Probably 14K white gold. I was thinking of using 14K yellow gold for the shank to match my husband. But I am not sure about this idea.

That's going to be a beautiful, very wearable ring! I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Does anyone have an opinion of this type of setting for my band? I don't know how the side view would look.
Or is the shared prong a better idea?

Sorry for the late post.
I like the shared prong idea better just cos it would let the AVCs have maximum bling, but this style would protect the stones more I think.
Go with the one you love more :-)

Thanks. Please check out my other thread regarding which design I am trying to decide on. =)
