Please help me decide between these 3 stones...

On paper, I thought the first would be the best diamond: it has a shallower depth than the others at 58. The others are all basically 61/59 %'s. But to my eyes, it isn't reflecting as much light: maybe it is suppose to look like that and will look better in person than the others. Thoughts on which would be the best for light performance? I looked at diamonds over on whiteflash, but she wants 2 carats or very close, and I can't get there with my $16k budget. Other sites didn't have actual pics, so I am leery of ordering virtually and having to return when it doesn't match the description.

Or, can I do better? I know the general consensus is that a more AGS ideal cut of 61/56 is preferred over a 61/59 or 61/58, due to increased fire? Is this quite visible, or only something a person who looks at diamonds all day will notice?

The third is on hold while I decide.

Not the second one. Send the other two in for idealscopes images (put them on hold) and post the images. Then we'll help you figure out which one is best.

Hi,

Thanks. I did look at those diamonds at B2c, but the prices looked really cheap at B2C, and they seemed all like virtual diamonds, hard to say how the color actually was. Plus, it seemed like every time I emailed B2C, someone different got back to me. Do they have a good rep? Seemed like just a call center; I knew more about diamonds by hanging around the forums for a few hours than the people I talked to. Maybe that isn't accurate, but it was the impression I got.

Being in retail myself, I know you typically get what you pay for, so the deep discounts were kind of a red flag. But if that isn't the case, then those stones are worth a look. Just didn't want to bark up the wrong tree.

Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the 2nd one? That way, I can know to eliminate those bad ones from my options!

Did you screen the diamonds with the https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca tool?
The second stone has an HCA score above 2 and you'll typically want something under 2.

I have not used B2C personally but I believe PS vendors a reputable. Maybe someone who has used them can chime in

The first one is fine. It is under different lighting environment, so it looks less reflective.

The second one is a little off with the symmetry. Its not terrible.

Here are some more options, looks like you haven't reserved 3 yet: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/?DefaultOrder&TabSelected=3&ps=15&DiamondID=353339,381805,387161,373874

Thank you for linking those. Unfortunately, they were all out of HCA<2 parameters (except the 2.01 J/VS2) Looks gorgeous though!

2.10 ct was HCA 2.7
2.07 ct was HCA 4.3
2.08 ct was HCA 2.4 (but also had a brown tint, probably why it was $2k cheaper)

But the 2.01 J/VS2 I originally liked still looks great! Might have a winner. Working on getting an idealscope.
