Hello All,

I believe I''ve narrowed down my diamond search to just 3. However, I''m a bit torn between the 3 and I was hoping I could get your input...please. Here they are:

Diamond 1: 1.2ct H VS2 Round Hearts and Arrows Diamond
AGS Cut Grade: Ideal
AGS Light Performance: Ideal
Optical Symmetry: Superior
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Table Percentage: 57.30%
Depth Percentage: 61.10%
Crown ∠: 34.79°
Pavilion ∠: 40.75°
Price: $8,701

Diamond 2: 1.26ct F SI1 Round Hearts and Arrows Diamond
AGS Cut Grade: Ideal
AGS Light Performance: Ideal
Optical Symmetry: Superior
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Table Percentage: 56.89%
Depth Percentage: 62.05%
Crown ∠: 34.97°
Pavilion ∠: 41.05°
Price: $9,579

Diamond 3: 1.241 ct H SI1 Whiteflash ACA
AGS Cut Grade: Ideal
AGS Light Performance: Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Depth %: 61.4
Table %: 56.6
Crown Angle: 34.7
Pavilion Angle: 40.7
Price: $7,269

Now, to be honest, I am kind of partial to Diamond 2 since it is the biggest, has the best color, and I was assured that it is eye-clean. However, it is also the most expensive of the 3, but under my budget of $9,500. Moreover, even though all 3 diamonds are H&A or ACA, Diamonds 1 & 3 seem to have better heart shapes than diamond 2 (in fact, I think Diamond 1 has the best). Do you agree?

I like Diamond 1, except that it is the smallest and has H color. Do you think there is any noticeable difference between a 1.20 ct and 1.26 (or 1.241 -- Diamond 3) size diamond? What about the color? Do you think at this size the average person can tell the difference between an F color diamond and an H?

Lastly, Diamond 3 gives me the most trouble. Why is it ~$1500 cheaper (saves me money) than Diamond 1? I mean Diamond 3 is bigger and they have the same color. Can clarity really make a diamond price jump that high for one grade? To me, clarity doesn''t matter here because I was assured that Diamond 3 is eye-clean. What do you think?

I apologize if this is a lot of info, but I''m a bit stuck and would really appreciate another person''s opinion. I look forward to any feedback any of you may have. Oh, please feel free to be completely honest, if you like all or none please let me know why. Thanks again.

Regards,

JQ

Seriously, it''s splitting hairs here. Go for the 3rd. It is the same face up size as 2, and reaalllly close to 1. And it''s cheaper. No, in a stone cut this well, no one is going to know what color it is! And H is plenty white to begin with.

And yes, clarity can make the price jump.

If 3 is really eyeclean, that gets my vote!

Another vote for #3 if eye clean,.. I am betting it is and know it will face up very white.. Good luck, they are all great choices..

Thritto Ellen and Kaleigh, #3; I like the best bang for the buck if it is eye clean.

I would join the chorus with the others in voting for #3, because of the savings.

There are many reasons why one diamond may cost more than another. Which cutting house, timing of the purchase, etc. The clarity difference is of course a large part, but other factors can be involved, too.

As Ellen pointed out, most of the other stuff is splitting hairs on diamonds of this quality. All are extremely well cut and will be beautiful. I will say that #2 has a slightly different personality and look than the other two, but you would probably need to examine them side by side to pick out the differences.

Quinditto the chorus.

Errr... sexthro?

I''m absolutely jumping in the same boat. The price difference does seem to be in the clarity; of which I don''t think you will even notice. Just have them confirm #3 is eye clean. Why pay more for something that cannot be seen (well, some people do want the piece of mind) and isn''t likely to affect performance to any humanly degree? I bought an H colored SI1 ACA (same as your #3) from them and it gets rave reviews in my gf''s ring. The H looks plenty white to me. I think it''s the most bang for your buck and I think you''ll be very pleased with it. The size difference between this one and the 1.26 would not be perceptable.

Hello All,

Thanks for all the great feedback, I really appreciate it. Through email (from WF) I was told that Diamond 3 is eye-clean, but I plan on setting up a call with them to discuss it more in detail.
