Hello
I just registered today, I've been lurking for about a month now. So much great info on this site!
My partner and I have been together for 7 years, and tomorrow I'm buying the diamond and having it set (setting is picked out, and almost complete, see below).

My jeweler has brought in 3 cushions. Two just arrived from Israel, and one he bought when he was at JCK a few weeks back. They are all about 1,2 ct and G-F VVS-VS.

The setting is platinum, unpolished, and hasn't had the pave set on the top. It will look similar to Tiffany's Legacy, but we're setting the diamond up a bit with prongs, so it's not channel set or bezel set like the Legacy.

I'd love to hear what you think about the stones. Sorry I don't have full specs yet, I should tomorrow when I see them in person.

First one (attached) is a 1,21 ct F VS1

A profile of the setting. There will be a surprise diamond on each side as well

It''s really impossible to see much from those pics. The angle on pic three isn''t doing much for that stone?

To gauge the stones at all, you need to see them face up against white paper preferably.

ya I know. They are taken under plain light, just quick shots.
I''m seeing them tomorrow. I know they''re all fine quality, that the buyer (my guy) selected himself.

What do you think of the design ?

The design looks like it will be terrific. Can''t wait to see it with the pave and all ready to go. Be sure and post some shots of the finished ring.

Thank you!
I will definately come back with pictures and updates.

I see you''ve found your stone and setting - looks gorgeous too!

I really can''t tell anything about fancy cuts from just the numbers, they need to be eyeballed. Since you did, and you loved it...sounds like a winner to me

How many days before the setting is completed? Are you excited beyond belief

I am VERY EXCITE
Should be ready next week - the setting and the diamond were picked up by the jeweler (who started the setting) to be completed. Just need the pave on top set, the platinum polished, and the diamond set.
I should have pictures of it for you on Wednesday or Thursday, and hand shots *very* soon after that

Thanks Amzizzle !

My diamond broker and I imported the stone, and it was set in a custom setting put together by a platinum artisan in Toronto. His name is Anto Hadjinian, and all of his work that I've seen has been phenominal. He will be making my FI a matching eternity band as her wedding ring.

Thanks for the info! I have had so much trouble deciding on what size cushion what color...It''s crazy and I think the boyfriend is going crazy!

Who are you working with to find the stone ? Make sure it''s someone who knows cushions - they can be a tricky shape for a novice.

Here is the finished ring, for reference

Well,I''ve been looking at blue nile (no pictures) and have checked out some whiteflash. I''ve seen a few photos randomly of some I-J cushions and really loved them.Any suggestions though customcushion?

If you don''t have a relationship with a Cushion expert already, I would take the advice of many happy customers on PS and call either Mark the Cushion Guy at Engagement Rings Direct, Jon @ Good ol Gold or Whiteflash.

Thanks so much cushioncut! I have definitely heard good things about all of them! Of course I pick the cut that HAS to be seen lol

Amzizzle, sometimes the longest journeys have the best rewards at the end.

Absolutely gorgeous ring!!!

Thanks!
