3 carats tw diamond studs for 8,099- is it a good deal?

Hi,

I was offered a pair of total weights 3 carats diamond round studs for $8,099. They are G-H I1 clarity. They do not have inclusions to the naked eyes. Is this a good deal? How much do these usually go for?

At I1 it is highly unlikely that there is not a single inclusion visible. Have you actually seen them with your own two eyes?

Is this someone you know? I would want to have them appraised before I bought them, but probably the best thing to do is find some stones online through a reputable vendor.

Definitely do that and make the sale final on the diamonds checking out favourably, have you seen them in person and do they have a grading report such as GIA?

If size is your most important factor, then they might be okay. But if you want beautiful well cut stones, I''d keep looking.

You can get about 2 ctw in I SI2 for around $8000 in ideal cut stones (GIA or AGS certs). of course, you''d have to ask WF if these are eyeclean and a good match. I wouldn''t do very thin girdle on a ring stone, but it shouldn''t be a problem on earrings.

Are they GIA certified? If not, you may be getting lower than H and I2. How are they cut?!!! Cut is what really makes a diamond sparkle!

We really can''t say much about the stones without more info: depth, table, crown/pavillion angles, certification etc. If you have the info, post it.
