This ruby is 3 carats. May I know the following:

1) What is this colour range?
2) Is this colour good?
3) Will this get vivid red?
4) Is the inclusion fine?
5) Is USD 10k worth it?

Thanks.

Hi, we need better pictures and more information about it.

It looks a bit hazy and might end up looking dull in person.

Is it unheated?

The lighting seems strong and despite that, it looks dark, so it will be darker in person and even darker when set.

Is it vivid red? It seems so, but if the tone is too dark it does not really matter.

10k for a 3ct ruby? It’s either heated and possibly filled, or the color is not as nice and the picture would like to show. Or both - probably both.

Seller has stated he will polish off the scratches so i don’t think it is a issue for this stone. But I just want to make sure it can get to pigeon blood level.

Send it to a lab? Then you’ll know for sure.

GRS will probably give it Pigeon Blood, but you need to know that GRS is very generous with such labels - I had to scratch my head with some of their pigeon blood rubies that looked like dark garnets.

If you can, send it to AGL and ask for full grading report, that’s really the only way to assess the quality of the ruby.

Okie, noted. Will send it to AGL for testing then. Thanks:)
