OH I AM SO MAD, I could just SMACK that stupid airline!!!
Today is our 27th anniversary - we are pumped about going to Vegas, all organized, dogs/kids/house all set and in order, etc. I notice that one leg of our flight doesn't have my seat confirmed (uh oh...) and ask DH while I'm at work, can you call and sort that out. Takes most of the mid day to finally get thru to an agent, mean while on his iphone he's checking flights are on time. Yup. 2pm (for a 6pm flight out) all is well but still on hold about the other issue. 220pm, agent on phone says flight is cancelled, but if you can get to the airport by 330, you could squeak onto a 4pm flight. I'm at work...yikes... insane driving skills get me home, then in the house long enough to change shoes (thankfully already set out everything the night before and DH throws them in the suitcase) and out we go. Make it by 330. Get to the counter - basically "too bad, so sad". No way will they allow us to get on the 4pm flight; the 5pm is over booked; 6pm is cancelled and the 7pm flight won't allow us enough time to get on the 840pm flight to LV. No one is overly concerned. They just think it's fine to book us tomorrow. Well, overall, they are only obligated to get us to our destination - however that may be - regardless of any inconvenience.
UGH So maddening!
Get home (I felt like a bachelorette doing the walk of shame when I didn't get a rose at the rose ceremony!), and call our LV hotel - the Aria at City Centre. "No problem at all, Mrs Enerchi - we already had a note on the booking it was your anniversary and upgraded you to a SKY SUITE! and since this is so unfortunate for you both on this special day, we'll arrange to have a limo pick you up and return you to the airport AND give you a $75 credit in one of our restaurants!!! Enjoy your stay with us Mrs Enerchi!"
WHOA!!! Now THAT is awesome client relations! Totally turned our day around... Night and day difference between the service with Air Canada and the Aria. I think our national airline has a lot to learn...
Rant over.
