This place is now on my "MUST go to" places list! Maybe PSers could have an annual convention here!

This article makes it sound like she found a fully faceted diamond. "pear shaped"?

I''ve been dying to go there, it sounds like such a fun day. This diamond is crazy though!

I''m dying to go here. I''ve been bugging DH for at least a year.

I think they meant pear shaped in the general appearance, not a fully faceted pear.

I wonder what clarity it is....

We need to get a group together and go diamond hunting! The biggest diamond found in the state was the Uncle Sam diamond that weighed 40.20-something carats(if i remember correctly)and im sure we can bet that record easily!

wow -I thought you meant a regular city park! :) that would have been crazy!

We actually booked a trip there two years ago but cancelled at the last minute. Everyone we spoke to told us to dedicate two weeks to digging all day long (from 9:00 to 5:00) if we really wanted to find anything at all, and we shouldn''t be disappointed if we didn''t find anything because most folks don''t. There are families who go there once a month almost all year long and dig in a different place every time and still find nothing.

Ya'' gotta'' get lucky.

I thought this was strange, too.

Field Trip! Field Trip! Field Trip!

I know DH wouldnt let me fly across the country to dig in hopes of finding a diamond. Then I will show him the article and prove it isnt such a bad idea after all.
