3.06 cts diamond studs for $9800 at Hannoush??

Hi,

I''m looking for bigger sized diamond studs for quite sometimes now. I saw at Hannoush a pair of 3.06 cts diamond studs. Diamonds are not certified and the mgr told me color is K-L and quality is I1. The studs retails for $9,800. The studs has a brownish/light yellow tint to it but sparkled. I louped it and did not look to have any black "boogers" or opaque inclusions. Is this a good deal?

Can anyone also recommend vendors who are selling 3 cts diamond studs at an affordable price? I am willing to sacrifice a liitle color and clarity but must be very well cut.

Check out James Allen -- you can build your own studs there -- they have matching pairs in your size range (assuming you meant 3 carats total weight, so average 1.5 carat per stud?) -- they don''t have anything in the 9800 range that I could see but worth a look. Check out these:

Not sure what your budget is but you could also check out Good Old Gold or Whiteflash -- I bet any of them could find you matching stones to build fabulous studs for you.

You get what you pay for...they likely will be very poorly cut and if you had them graded they would likely be very low in color if they look brown under the store lights. They also could have major clouds as inclusions if you didn''t see any black, which can really inhibit sparkle.

I''d personally buy a bit smaller from a vendor with an upgrade policy like Whiteflash. Then as you can afford it, work up to your desired size.

I did a screen capture of a set of parameters--color and clarity--and here are some interesting choices. I would try and match a pari of stones, Ideal Cuts in the JKL color range and I1 clarity for earrings. These stones are beautifully well cut and since you were looking in those color clarity ranges, I would prefer AGS0 stones for perhaps close to the same cost. Check it out!
