3.0 carat radiant cut HELP

Can someone please tell me what this diamond might look like? It is AGSL certified and does not have a cut grade but has all the specs. Total depth 67.1

a few things jump out at me..

1. from a friend of a friend
2. must decide by tomorrow
3. SI2


off the cuff, i would say pass on it. rushing into this by tomorrow without the proper info could turn out to be a mistake.

table seems a bit large compared to the depth.
the color is pretty low for a radiant, they can show more warmth. (not that there is anything wrong with that) especially if that is your preference
and of course the clarity grade could be a big concern


so caution, buying radiant sight unseen, not good!!!! there are too many variables with them and they MUST be seen.

hey, as a radiant buyer myself I would say, you have to see the stone. I looked at well over 20 stones in my search. I ended up with one that spec wise is not perfect. But, to the eye it was perfect! My bride gets more compliments on the sparkle of her ring than I could have imagined.

My stone, 2.71 ct F. Color by the way, imo, should be lower than H. Radiants show color easy, an I might look brownish.

this is the place to be, take your time and read up on the cut and go out and compare size, ratio, color, and what level of clarity is in your comfort zone. that can only be done by seeing diamonds in person.

Sorry as the others say we need detailed photos and other images if you can get them, but I wouldn't recommend you buy sight unseen from a friend of a friend, radiants need to be seen to be judged and if something goes wrong, you probably won't have any backup or recourse. Also an I colour in that size may show some warmth.

I too just went through the process of finding a radiant. Each stone really does vary in appearance even though their numbers may be similar. It's true also that the cut tends to show more color than other cuts. Being a color sensitive person, I could see warmth starting about G-H so ended up with an E. You may like the warmth of an H but I prefer the icy white look.

As far as the numbers go, the "original" radiant cut website has the guidelines they use on this page. http://www.radiantcut.com/Content.aspx?Content=CutScienceMeasurements&SideContent=Cut And Pricescope has a page too with some guidelines. http://diamonds.pricescope.com/fnc2.asp At least that'll give you a range of numbers to use in your initial weeding out process.

Don't be surprised if you have to look at many radiants before you find one that speaks to you. Good luck!
