Hi

I'm new to this and just wanted a 2nd opinion on a diamond with the following specs (refer attachment - please let me know if it is unclear).

I've used the HCA tool and if it did it correctly, it came back with a score of 3.9. I know that as a general rule, other posters would recommend that I stick to diamonds with a HCA score of <2, but I've been quoted what is apparently a good price from a friend (USD$9,025 including 18k white gold knife's edge 6 claw ring), which is why i'd like to get a 2nd opinion. The diamond scored VG in light return and spread and G in fire and scintillation.

I don't quite understand the technicalities around the HCA scoring but would love to hear anyone's comments/critiques on this diamond - in particular whether this is indeed a good deal or if you think I am better off spending more on a better diamond (e.g. from an online store like JA, WF etc).

As a guide, my budget for the ring is USD$10k, and my minimum specs are 1.10ct, G, SI1 and 3 EXs. I'll admit i'm unsure when it comes to other specs such as girdle, table, depth etc...

Any help is much appreciated.

It's a good deal for the friend. :naughty:

I agree with the previous posters, that is not a good deal for you at all. The diamond posted by OC girl is better and the whole ring would cost less!

the diameter looks too small for a 1.12ct stone.

It's a good deal
