Hi guys

What do you think of this stone - I don''t know yet how eyeclean it is, but will soon (that''s obvs v important). There are a few things that make me think I maybe should pass:

- Only "Good" symmetry
- Strong blue fluorescence in an F

But! It''s a fab size, and scores an impressive 0.5 (EX - EX - EX - EX) on the HCA.

Assuming it''s eyeclean, what do you think (esp. re fluorescence and symmetry).

Thanks!

You can't select a stone from the cut advisor, or really judge it from ex ex vg etc, it is for eliminating diamonds, or sorting the wheat from the chaff as someone aptly put it! Stones which score 2 and below in most cases considered to be wheat. In this case, I would see if you can get an Idealscope for this diamond if you can, to check that the crown and pavilion angles are complimentary. Strong blue fluorescence, ask the vendor if it has any negative effects to be prudent ( rare but best to check.) Good symmetry, it is said good and above look the same to the naked untrained eye, superideal diamonds normally have excellent to ideal as part of their strict finishing details and craftmanship, and buyers of these diamonds expect at least excellent usually as part of the overall package. Personally I wouldn't pass for the good symmetry and fluorescence, but I would want an Idealscope image to check this diamond out if I was considering it.

Lorelei, you are so knowledgeable! You need to find a way to harness your knoweldge for personal gain, not just for the benefit of the diamond-buying populace!

Hear hear! Lorelei, thank you so much - super answer!
