I''m looking for a 2ct AGS cert diamond and ran across one priced at $17.8k. It has the following traits:

Carat: 2.08
Clarity: VS2
Color: J
Cut: Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Symentry: Ideal
Table: 54.9%
Depth: 62.0%
Comments: No feathers with 2 small crystals on the edges and 1 small crystal near the center.

I got the quote from a brick & mortar (B&M). Looking at Blue Nile and other internet retailers, the price appears a few grand higher, which is expected. I have friends of friends who are in the diamond business and gave this price a "thumbs-up."

Does anyone have any thoughts on this price.

You didn't specify that the diamond is AGS0 cut, so I'll qualify with this: If it's an AGS0 cut by today's grading system, that seems a reasonable price at a B&M venue.

I don''t know if this helps because we didn''t really look at B &M stores, but my boyfriend just purchased a 2.39 J SI1 (eyeclean) from Whiteflash. It was GIA excellent, AWESOME cut( I know this because I picked it out!). He paid $14,740 out the door. Don''t know if you''re willing to buy online but if you feel like looking Whiteflash has been great. You can search "isabel 2.39" and you''ll probably find the specs if you want to compare with the one you''re considering.

Wish I could give more input about stores...have you seen it in person? Is it wonderful and sparkly??????

I was curious about to AGS0 comment. I didn''t realize AGS had different levels. I believe subject diamond is AGS0. Here is the diamond''s AGS report. Any issues with the culet being pointed?
