Hi all, looking into a 2ct RB H SI1 diamond right now and received a copy of GIA cert.

I''m worried that the GIA cert showing large areas of cloud in SI1 will affect the transparency and clarity of the diamond. I''ve been advised that it is eye clean but does that mean that it won''t appear oily/sleepy?

Also the cut is a VG grade but I am concerned about the brillianteering. I punched in the numbers in HCA and it comes up as 3, EX spread, Gd fire, scintillation, VG Light return- nothing mind blowing but is this acceptable?

Will try to post pic of GIA cert soon...

It would help if you could post the GIA report and concerning the cloud/s - do you know if a cloud is the grade making inclusion? Brillianteering may not be a problem, but it would be useful if you could post the proportions of the diamond please.

I should also mention that the report says additional cloud not shown and surface graining not shown. Still figuring out how to minimize file size for upload...

That should be fine if in the comments section, it is more concerning if the clarity grade is actually based on a cloud. If you are having trouble posting the report, email it to admin and they will help you out.

Thanks Lorelai! I think I''ll have to resort to emailing the admin! :D

I would pass on it for the reason in bold.

post the cut proportions please, or the ct wt and the cert number please

I have been very unsuccessful in my attempts at reducing the size of the file. Tried saving it into other files but the size is still too large.

Hi Garry, here''s the GIA report # 15764395

Specs:

Table: 58%

Depth: 59.9%

Crown Angle: 31.5 degrees

Pavillion Angle: 41.6 degrees

Carat: 2.03

Colour & Clarity: H SI1

My vendor is icestore.com and they have assured me that it is eye clean- the clouds don''t affect this particular diamond so there is no oily/sleepy appearance. Ice''s rep advised that the diamond grade was determined by crystal inclusions and not the clouds and that it always looks worse on paper. I am inclined to trust the rep as I have dealings with her before but still worried about the the cloud that covers 2 -3 faceted areas.

okay, hoping that the pic of GIA gert has been uploaded and showing...
