22 ct Rose cut diamond

Can anyone give me any idea of the value range for a 22 ct antique rose cut diamond? I have no idea of the color or clarity. It''s a family heirloom of my BF''s. He thinks it''s not worth much unless you had it recut, but I think it would be worth more as is since it''s an antique, although 22 ct doesn''t seem wearable so maybe that would hurt the value.

Also, I''m not positive it''s a rose cut. Would it be worth more if it''s an OEC?

Also, rose cut, from what I understand, do not have a table, the flat surface is at the bottom.

LOL. I can see if I can get one. I''ve been hearing about it for years and dying to see myself. I''ve been told they have it rolling around the dresser drawer like it''s nothing. He said it''s like the size of a baseball, lol.

I haven''t gone digging because they''re in a different state.

I never considered it could become my engagement ring until my BF brought it up today. He said maybe we could have it recut. I think I would seriously die of a heart attack if he proposed with something like that.
