This worked pretty well for my lazy self last month so I thought I'd try it again and see if we can get more joiners this time.

List your January goals OR your overall goals for the whole year, and check in here as we go.

Goals can be of any type and any related discussion is most welcome. :)

My goal is to get back to travelling; my resolution is to exercise more (but I make the same resolution every year). Another resolution is to continue to weed through all the things in my home and get rid of the things I don't use. I'm more likely to accomplish this one than the exercise one!

Get back to working out 5/7
Went from going to the gym 5 days a week to not at all since covid. Getting in the shower after work makes it difficult then go out for a walk or a run.
I have given my dear hub permission to call me out if I skip more than 4 days in a row

My goals are the same as December.

Getting my DH healthy and cancer free g-d willing.
Then taking care of my health issues which might require surgery too unfortunately.

I continue lifting weights and working out and eating enough protein and calories to be strong and healthy (as healthy as I can given a few medical issues I have no control over right now).

And just taking each day one day at a time and trying not to look too far ahead in the future or else it feels overwhelming.

Greg is the love of my life and my everything. ❤️

To keep healthy until we get the vaccine, and to make the biggest move of our lives.

My goal is to lose the weight I have gained since covid hit...I had lost 105 pounds since 2014 and since covid hit probably gained at least 8 back, doesnt sound like much but at 4'10 1/2" tall its alot and it's the first time since my weight loss journey I have gained weight and I am not a happy camper...my other goals is to drink less, this too spiraled out of control since covid and of course that also contributed to the weight gain.

I always do Dry January & stay dry until my daughters bday in March. Once I'm out of the habit, it's easy to stay focused.

Lose a bit of tummy weight that my pesky hormones are creating. Dry Jan will be sugar free too. Also start exercising again. I haven’t done any for 2 weeks as I was a bit run down & had a bad chest & boy do i feel it.

Get a grip of my health anxieties that have flared recently. I injured my hand doing Burpee's which resulted in a hosptal trip in Nov. Weekly physio is not improving the nerve damage as quickly as we thought (my Guyon canal is possibly to blame, resulting in partial paralysis of my pinky). I have to have nerve stimulation testing to determine if I need a little keyhole proceedure, but my idle mind has turned this into possible MS. Really??! I need to get a f*kin grip! The more i worry, the more I get the tingles & nausea. Being away from work & in lockdown is REALLY bad for my brain!

Focus on diet & even cleaner eating than usual, to help me deal with all these changes going on in my body & improve my mental state.

Basically taking better care of myself. Have all my checkups done, which I have let slide. I had a physical in November and this week I'm going to have mammogram and bone density screenings done. Then it's off for the pap smear.

I gained weight during the first part of covid. Who didn't? My daughter got a fancy scale that gives you all kinds of cool info and I bravely got on and shocked myself into action. I want to continue to weigh every day now that I'm back down in the 110s where I belong. It's all too easy for the pounds to creep on when you're not paying strict attention.

I am in awe of all of you.
I haven't gotten farther than this year, at some point, I will wear real pants. With buttons/zipper. Maybe.

I want to lose fifteen lbs this year.

But this year - I want to do it properly. Sustainably. No overly restrictive diets. No pitching camp beside the treadmill. No daily weigh-ins. And when I reach fifteen - I stop and maintain, no “let’s try for twenty”.

I’ve never done this before. I’ve planned to... But sooner or later disappointment that I’m not losing quickly enough kicks in and the calorie calendar comes out. So that’s my resolution for this year - for the first time, do this the right way, and hopefully avoid a repeat next year!

My goal is to lose 10-15 pounds, and to regain control of my blood pressure, which has been elevated, including a scary visit to the ER a couple weeks ago.
My resolution is to do that by following the DASH diet and getting back into the routine of exercise, whether that's walking or even the gym, if possible.
Although having a glass of wine is allowed, I'm considering doing a Dry January to help the weight loss along.

My goal is to learn to make more things "from scratch" where possible. I figured I would start with chicken broths and tomato sauces. When my husband got out of the military and we were more able to stop eating as much rice and beans and tuna and ramen/macaroni and cheese type meals. I started making more things myself. We still aren't where most people would find what we eat up to crunchy mom standard but we are doing better. It's nice to be able to add fresh or frozen veggies to our diet where we couldn't really before.

Second goal to get our toddler to EAT said vegetables lol.

I've never done dry January before, but am seriously considering it. I also want to move 5 days of the week, either yoga, walking, running, weight lifting, or something given how stationary my life has become with working from home.

Changing to a Mediterranean diet. I need to move. I want to journal but probably won’t. I want to take better care of my skin.

I have been drinking more booze to kill the virus.. :silenced:

2021

1) Finish end of life planning so I don't have to think about it anymore, ugh.
2) Get back on a more rigorous exercise program- try to find a fun one
3) Work on side business. Try to hit 5 digits income from it in 2021.
4) Work on two new hobbies to progress past beginner level on both
5) Post-Covid, re-vamp social life to replace everyone I hate haha
6) Invest half of income

You and me, both, then! :mrgreen2:
Unfortunately, not good on the scale :(2

Mr T & I have drunk enough to sink a ship over the last week. I dread to think of the units. But we always do - this is our week to open a bottle at 6pm as we settle down for the evening with the girls to play card games. It's the one week a year that we do. Come Jan 1st, we'll be done.

I’m considering this budgeting “sprint” to aggressively save in a fun way and get our teens on board. This will mean meal planning on their part and a great reduction of beer on our part!

I love this software (I started a thread about it in Hangout last year).

Like everyone, 2020 was a particularly challenging year. I was sick in March was a mystery illness and it has taken so long to get back to normal. Just when I was starting to feel better, I broke my toe. In the middle of all of this, our 16 year old cat Max died. My husbands chronic pain and scar tissue issue is becoming unbearable and we were discussing going back to cleveland clinic for surgery before covid ramped up. I let many of my healthy habits like walking 4 miles every day, no matter what.. not eating much sugar, stopped doing yoga regularly, gave up meditation.ugh.. my yoga studio closed and I really miss it. I worked very hard to become social again, after years and years of isolation. I guess my goal will be back to nurturing and taking care of myself and doing the things I know make me feel better. Eating better, getting outside every day, mediating, and remembering that these things all make me feel more balanced and less depressed and anxious. In some ways, it was helpful to relax my ocd behavior a bit an realize that I could remain somewhat healthy. I do think that for me though, my ocd actually helps me stay committed to healthy habits. I have learned not to beat myself up so much when I chose to ease up a bit. I think that's the key.. understanding the choice I have, and that the power too make that choice lies with me.

A shot a day keeps the Dr. away! martini.gif..Alcohol will kill most viruses in your body...:wink2:

Lose more weight to get in healthy BMI range.
I’m still in the overweight area.
I have lost 6kg from reducing my portion sizes & fasting.
Drink more water.... & less liquor! Aim to save money every day I don’t have a wine of an evening - waist to shrink & savings to expand is the goal!
