Please post any emails or alerts you're getting regarding sales from your favorite vendors! Please especially give a little love to the lesser-known etsy sellers if they're running a promotion. I'm always on the lookout for new websites to peruse.

I am not in the market for pearls right now, but Pearl Paradise is having their usual Black Friday sale. Maybe a pair of those pretty earrings that I really don't need, hmmm.....

Last year HPD had a section on their website that said "Specials" or something like that around this time of year. I don't see anything (yet), but I'll be watching. :)

Harry josh pro tools will be 30% off starting Friday. Out of my GHD, Harry Josh and Dyson air wrap system, I like the Harry Josh dryer the best, so I’m waiting to get a flat iron. My daughter and I switched the Harry josh and the airwrap, so I use dyson the most but like HJ the best.

Dyson is pretty good hair dryer too.

Oh, I did get $250 off a Dyson air purifier last week, so that might still be going on.

It always makes me think, if a place can afford to have massive 50% off sales why are they charging such high prices? Some off, like 25% or something seems fine, but 40%+ always makes me distrust with jewellery.

I don't feel the same about clothes. I figure they are end of season or that their mark-up was huge to start with. Odlo, a thermal and sportswear company I like, has expanded their sale category this week.

GHD hairdryers has 20% off. I bought the travel hairdryer. (Which is going to confound my husband since he already had texted a friend of mine a pic my my collection asking her if I have a problem). I have 2 houses, a RV and I travel. I keep a dedicated one in the guest bathroom, my bathroom, my daughter’s bathroom and the bathroom at the other house and one in the RV. Oh, and my daughter’s dorm has one (this is where the harry josh is because she has a ton of thick strong hair nearly to her butt and it does the best by far for her).

Plus, I wanted a cheaper travel one because a better dryer truly makes a difference over the hotel hair dryer. No comparison.

Harry josh is the best, but I didn’t want to spend 349. The Dyson might get stolen and was expensive. GHD is a good all around dryer, and the travel one is 79 with a free full size gift right now.

I think LE is having 50% off through at least another week or so...or at least I remember reading that when I placed an order the other day. But I could be wrong. It is going on through today at least so there is still time.

There is a huge mark up on almost everything. Clothing, shoes, eyeglasses, you name it there is a big markup. I remember when I was in the field they charged almost 3 times the cost of the frames. Crazy but true.

Does this include jewellery? Sellers on here would have me think not.

Do you think it's still true that there is huge mark up on everything? I used to work retail in high school and college so can believe that used to be true. I think our mark up was 2.5 times 15-20 years ago. That was before the now incredibly competitive internet age where everyone seems to be competing for every little bit of business by under cutting each other constantly. I'd be surprised if the 2.5--3 times mark up you and I are familiar with from days past is still true for a lot of types of retail.

I don't know Rhea. Definitely food for thought. The cost of doing business is high so I understand having a considerable markup or else vendors would not be able to stay in business. Of course online shopping has changed the marketplace dramatically. I will say some bling gets marked down considerably and has me thinking that yes there is a big markup depending on the vendor and how they are doing business ie store front vs just online presence etc.

I’d not seen anything like it. I was buying coats for us for NY and my daughter needed one, and while I was texting her choices, the stock went down to critically low of whatever so I bought her a L and XL and right after that, the XLs were gone.

I’ve never been so stressed out in my life lol. At least now I can go look and take my time.
