My hubs won't let me decorate yet. He's being ba-hum-bug this year cuz he doesn't wanna crawl up in the attic and bring down all the boxes. So I'll just post the pics from last year (which should be similar to what it will look like this year). We have one tree in the sitting room and then another in the family room. We used to put the presents under the tree in the sitting room because that has the fireplace so it's easier for Santa. But now our family has grown too big (LOL!) so it's been moved to the family room. And of course we gotta add the boy. It was his first Christmas portrait. :kiss2:

Such pretty decorations! There’s something magical about rooms ready for Christmas

So far, we only have our tree up. We put it up before Thanksgiving, so that when we came home from out of town, it would feel nice & Christmassy.
It’s mostly sweets & elves, with nothing easily breakable. A little more haphazard than usual, but my two year old & six year old decorated & they had a ball doing it. (They did have some grownup help for the top 1/3rd & a few things have since been redistributed)

Nowhere near done though, still need to do garland on staircase and hang stockings, more glass ornaments to go on tree, but that wont happen until we get the doggie fence (ordered yesterday) around the tree. Dh called our usual guys to do our outdoor lighting today. But here is a preview. This is also Noah (our pup's) first Christmas!

I don't have the dedication nor enough holiday spirit to do major decorations at my house, but I love looking at everyone else's! I'm trying to take my 3 year old Christmas tree shopping this weekend and kind of dreading having to decorate it! :P2

@Babyblue033 -

Oooh, you've come to the right place!

Buy one of each color of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Gift-Boutiqu...ie=UTF8&qid=1543357037&sr=8-9&keywords=tinsel

Buy three of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Si...0&sr=8-4&keywords=warm+white+christmas+lights

Buy 1 x 6ft fresh tree. Wrap the lights around it and plug them in. Scatter the tinsel over the whole thing. After Christmas, remove the lights, then throw out the tree plus tinsel. Takes about 10 minutes to decorate. If you want to be fancy, add a topper:

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=node=13744831&field-keywords=warm+white+christmas+toppers&rh=n:1055398,n:13679381,n:13744831,k:warm+white+christmas+toppers

It might not be what you have in mind, but it looks great, kids are entranced with the twinkle of the tinsel, it's cheap and it's quick and, of course, the lights can be used again. And no boxes of ornaments!

And of course there's always *this*: red 'silk' 4" dupioni ribbon and white lights. Looks killer every time.

I haven’t decorated yet but here some pictures from last year. I decided to go with rose gold and purple on the white tree. I did butterflies and rose gold and gold on the skinny rose gold tree in the foyer.
I also did a green tree upstairs with silver and blue ornaments bc I decided not to do the garland on the stairs or balcony last year. You can kind of see it in the mirror of my fireplace pic.

I’ve made a start and decorated my fireplace. I appear to have misplaced my tree decorations so I need to buy more. I’m hoping to put the tree up this weekend.

I usually have a different color scheme on our trees yearly ... this is called the snowflake tree this year in white and silver.

I remember a thread like this last year, and quite a lot of people expressed a disinterest in decorations, or in celebrating Christmas in general.

But there were a bunch of us die-hards who were totally into it - so for them (and me!)...share your decorations for this year!

Here's a few from my living / dining room, which I finished this evening; 4 full sized trees and a whole bunch of fairy lights. :)

We are 8 months into a never-ending remodel, so this is my only Christmas tree this year. I’m having Christmas decorating withdrawal syndrome right now because I’m used to going all out for holiday decorating!

I have babied this Norfolk pine for 6 or 7 years now. I bought it when it was a teeny tiny baby at the floral department in the grocery store.

Thanks, @D&T :)

No, they're all champagne colored - a mix of gold and silver. It's softer than plain gold and warmer than all silver. In the grouping of 3, I have a 7.5 foot slim line one, a 6.5 foot regular width, and a 5.5 foot one, also regular width.

The stand alone tree, which is decorated, is 7.5 foot and full width. I LOVE my trees - they're prelit and look wonderful even if you don't decorate them. My husband says, tho, that what we need now is a full sized, living deer in there, so it can come popping out of the 'forest'. I'm pretty sure he's joking, but I'm not entirely closed off to the idea.

Trees from last year. I really had fun blinging out the white tree!

These are awesome, @mrs jam! You are clearly an experienced hand at this - they're really creative!

And I love your Norfolk pine, too. Will you re-pot it at some point? I re-potted one for my dr's office a couple of years back, and it grew like the clappers! I love that you've had it for so long - good job! :))
