Why do someone people have 2 bands surrounding the engagement ring? I love the look especially when they are eternity bands but ive always wondered the thought behind it?

Well - there are a couple of reasons....

1) Bling in any way shape or form is fantastic - so why limit yourself with one band (or two for that matter

)
2) One is a wedding band and lots of women get a second band as an "anniversary band"
3) Some people, like yourself, just love the look!

Here''s my set - I''ll get to wear it in August finally!!! Sorry for the terrible pic quality :)

I thought that sometimes the outer most ring was originally added as a guard ring, to prevent you from losing your e-ring should it be loose and want to slip off. The inner ring is the wedding band. But, what the heck, have them match and make more bling! Also, stacking rings are popular right now.

Cleopatra, LOVE your look!

I ended up going with two bands for a few reasons. 1) My budget allowed it, and I didn''t want unused budget to go to waste! and 2) I liked the idea of stacking, or when I went e-ringless, I could stack the two thin bands for a little more oomph. I was always concerned that a matching band to my ering would be too skinny on its own. So this was the best option!

Honestly, I don''t know if I''ll ever wear all three together. Mostly because my fingers are stubby and I do''nt have a lot of real estate!

I like the symmetry that one band on either side provides!

Ditto, October! I wear 2 pave eternity bands with my EC solitaire. I just like the look! A little more bling is never a bad thing!!!

I always thought the ''extra'' wedding band was actually an anniversary ring, or ''eternity'' ring, bought a few years after the wedding...
they look fab, don''t they?! Especially with solitaires...

I love stacking bands with my solitaire..love change and versatiliy, some days I want alot of bling (more than one band), other days, just one simple band.

My mom does the same thing (two bands surrounding the engagement ring) mostly because she likes the look (and has the long fingers to pull it off...which I don''t!)
