I like a four prong but only if it accentuates a round shape of the diamond (without giving it a square shape.) Plus, the stones are stacked nicely together. That is what I have just purchased. I contemplated to get a 3-prong but the stones were too far apart in that one.

I love my 3 prong, I worried that 2 prong wouldn't be secure enough, and don't like the squarish look that four prongs can give. 3 was a good compromise!

This is my 3 prong from IDJ. It’s approx 5ctw, I love how the 3 prong makes the diamonds look round and individual rather than a line of diamonds.

Bezel set for me as I do not like prong/claw settings, ever since I lost the centre stone which was an imperial jade from a ring that was loaned to me by my mum in the early 90s during one drunken work function.

If I had to choose, then I would probably choose 4 prongs to be on the safe side.

Yes, I have had it for quite a while and no problems. I like to see the most diamond possible.
