Hi there!

These are 2 IS images and I don't think I've seen anything like them. Can someone chime in on what's going on here?

Also, as I'm writing this, I'm not sure how large the images will be. If too small I will try and re-post.

Thank you!

Top row (1553051a_idealscope.png)
L: Hearts image (showing optical symmetry)
R: Arrows image (showing optical symmetry)
No IS, no ASET

Bottom row (1547860a_idealscope.png)
L: Hearts image
R: ASET image
No IS, no arrows pic

Thanks Yssie.

I was sent these pics from a vendor as IS pictures. So, none of these are IS images?! Well that explains my confusion. And on the bottom row, you are indicating that the right picture is an ASET…I've not seen an ASET like that before. How do I interpret it without the green I'm used to seeing?

Just to clarify, I knew the left hand pictures were not IS images…..

None of those images are IS or ASET, they are strictly hearts and arrows viewer images.

I thought they were all hearts and arrows viewer images, too.

What I can tell is that I do not like the top stone. The second stone looks great from what we can see so far. Give us the numbers on the second stone if they can't do an idealscope image.

Hi Diamondseeker, thanks for replying!

Okay, here's the numbers on the second stone (the bottom row images):

2.35 ct, G, VS1
GIA EX cut, EX polish, EX symmetry, No flouro
Table: 59%
Depth: 59.8%
CA: 33 deg
PA: 40.8 deg
LGF: 75%
Girdle: 3.5%
Star length: 50%
Crown ht: 13.5%
Pavilion depth: 43.0%

HCA: 1.1

Looks interesting, but unfortunately no IS or ASET images available. What do you think?

Without an IS or ASET for those measurements, I vote no. 33 CA angle with a 40.8 PA is a bit wonky, and it has a large table for being as shallow as it is.

Yep. That's why I voted no without the idealscope or ASET to give you an idea on the light return. It could be good, or it could be bad.

Thanks for chiming in.

I know….wish I could get an IS or ASET, but they're not available unless I buy the stone and use one myself. I was worried about the larger table and the CA. Think I'll pass and keep looking.

Thanks!

Anyone selling you a 2+ carat stone should be able to provide an IS and ASET image, even if they charge you the shipping cost (shipping cost is often refundable if you decide to purchase the stone). If it's an in house stone and they can't provide those ... kind of odd.

Good luck in your search!
