2 carat cognac diamond - Mia B

I am helping someone who purchased a cognac diamond ring that might have been misrepresented. The makers' mark on it is Mia B with a 18K hallmark. The person who sold it to her told her that this was Marina B (grand daughter of the founder of Bulgari) and she sometimes referred to herself as Mia. I found no evidence that the two are one in the same, but I told her I would ask the question here.

Is anyone familiar with the designer Mia B? I could not find any information on her.

I'm leaving lurkdom for my first post, and I wish I had something more encouraging to say!
I think the ring has been misrepresented to your friend, if it was sold under the pretense of having some connection to Marina Bulgari.
From what I've been able to gather, both from the official Marina B. website and elsewhere, Marina left Bulgari in 1976 to create her own brand and founded her self-titled company in 1978. No mention is made of her ever having designed anything for any brands beyond Bulgari and Marina B.
I also checked out the hallmarks of both Marina B and Mia B, and they are vastly different; I would think if the designer were the same, the hallmarks would at least be similar even if the name was different.

I also found a jewelry store in the UK called Mia B, so it is possible (though admittedly a longshot) the ring was one of their house branded pieces. Unfortunately, this is the best info I could find on the place:

If your friend is happy with what she paid for the ring (regardless of the designer) and she loves it, awesome! However, if her purchase was contingent upon the ring being something it (seemingly) isn't, if I were her, I would get a refund if at all possible.

Thank you so much PunkyMouse, and welcome to Pricescope. The person she bought it from told her that for a short period Marina B signed her pieces Mia B. That piece of jewelry you referenced is the only information I can find on Mia B. The manufacturers' marks are very different.

Anyone else know anything about the designer Mia B?
