2.7carat cushion cut- worth it?

Modern Cushions come in two flavors. Crushed ice and chunky faceting. Both of these appear to be "crushed ice" where the facets are lost in the light return. These will tend to twinkle, rather than have bold bright flashes. Antique cushions come in real antiques (see below) or a modern version where the light return is perfected but it retains is antique faceting look. Modern antique cuts are available from GoodOldGold (August Vintage) and Victor Canera (likely others). I've linked to all the types below to give you a visual.

Other PSers are better with modern cushions. But, here are two cushions in the right size that compare the two. Psers prefer chunky, but let folks know what you prefer. Also, if you can give you needs (budget, size, color, clarity) we can look for you.

Thank you so much for the super informative reply!:)) We are looking at about $35k, for anything bigger than 2.5carat, preferably D-F, with minimum clarity of VVS1. Thank you very much in advance!

Great. What kind of cushion are you seeking?

I think I prefer Modern chunky now after checking out the first link, from James Allen, you shared with me!

What makes you want VVS clarity? Is it cultural or are you trying to make sure it's eyeclean?

VVS2 will be completely eye-clean, you will struggle to see any inclusions even with a loupe - VS1 will be much the same, and many VS2s will be completely eye-clean also!

As per rocky's post, unless there is a cultural reason for VVS1 or IF clarity, you can drop to VS2 and save a lot of money / get a bigger rock / up the colour grade :)
