Hi this if my first post, I have been doing as much research as possible and this site so far as been the most informative.
The 2 stones above basically fit into my price range with the wholesaler I just started working with, It was just chance I stumbled into his store and I was amazed at the hundreds of loose GIA diamonds he had and the prices are really good, which has increased the size I can now afford.
I spoke with him yesterday and we narrowed down the types of stones above, I really want an F color but he highly recommended a G saying I or my fiance will never tell the difference and I can get larger, but then he showed me an F next to a G and I saw right away. I also went to color guide on GOG and saw the difference as well. I think the average increase in price I was seeing was about 6k more for the F assuming same cut and clarity, however he said he likely could get me in a much much bigger G.
He is going to pull many of the ones he has at jewelers next week so he can show me, and I will have a chance to view a ton of stones all at once.
I want to know if it is worth it for the F, my fiance is color sensitive and has fair skin, she is a redhead, and this stone will sit inside a halo type setting. This is going to be a good size diamond on her finger and I am really concerned that the G will be noticeable, I dont ever want one of her friends talking behind her back if they notice any warmth in the stone, they have smaller diamonds but I know from their husbands that they are F or higher rated. If I can be convince by a disinterested person that the F will be the better buy, I will go that way.
