I was wondering if anyone would know the approximate value on a 2.32 D Vs2 AGa stone with 61.9 Depth 59 Table and negligble flourence. Thanks tim

Just one thing... what is "AGa" ?

This does sound like near 11k/ct, hopefully a bit below...

who certified that stone? aga?? who are they.

anyway, A stone like that 2.32 dvs2 G.I.A Certed, with None flour. should be around 26,000.00 dollars.

Dave Atlas is well repected and highly regarded in the trade. Dave is also well known for the cut grading system (AGA Cut Charts) which he has devised...

This is curious, does Dave and team cert stones or just do appraisals? Is the stone GIA certed and AGA appraised?

If AGA appraised it then you should have a value on the appraisal, no? Are you just trying to confirm it? Appraisals are normally at least slightly inflated for retail value, so the amount someone may quote you here may be under what an appraiser would value it at.

If you are looking to BUY a stone, you could get something like that as the others noted for around $26k. But an appraisal may note something more like $30k, depending on the appraiser, etc.

Dave is the head of the AGA lab that grade a lot of diamonds in their local market.

The certificate you have is real.

Yes or no to what? You haven't asked a question that can be answered "yes" or "no".

If you're asking if AGA is good, the answer is yes.

If you're asking if the price is good, we can't answer that - we don't know what you paid. Further, since AGA is an appraiser, they should be able to give you the best idea of its worth.

If you're asking if the diamond is good - we couldn't tell that from the bare bones info you gave, and we certainly couldn't tell you better than Dave's crew could if they've seen it. They are appraisers, and if they tell you stone is a go, then it is.

Anyone have an idea what this diamond is worth

AGA does make appraisals and ALSO makes three diamond grading products. The main product is the AGA-CERT which is a complete diamond grading report WITH a cut grade. The next level down is the AGA-Internatiopnal Report which has all the details of cut, but no AGA cut grade. The least information level is the AGA-Diamond Dealer Report that only has on it the same level of detail issued by the GIA.

We charge the same price for these reports as our way of encouraging dealers to make complete disclosure of the facts, but since we operate in the real world, we also need to give dealers choices in how much they wish to divulge.

We only offer AGA-CERTs to the public as only full disclosure is what we feel suits the consumer. While there may be an exceptional case in this regard, I can't think of one at the present time. Less is not more when it comes to the truth.

Tim, get your diamond appraised. Only they can tell you for sure.

Good luck!
