. ive been lurking around this forum for the past couple of days though, and this site has been very helpful to me. im trying to find a 0.20-0.26ct princess for a pre-engagement ring, and have reached a couple on diamond.com. im not trying to find the best diamond, for we are very young college students with a lot of tuition fees!

we just want the best (loose) diamond for our budget, which is $200-$300. let me know what you think between the two. please dont hesitate on giving me advice on what kind of specs i should be looking for within our budget ! should i get a round instead? should i even get a certificate for a stone this small?

#1 is decent maybe. #2...nonononono!!!! You can do so much better...that is going to be SOOOOO deep that it will look like .15

Also, in the size you are looking for I would stick to a vs2 or si1....Your money will be better spent...

I am off now to find some links!!!

Check out Good Old Gold, Whiteflash, etc. They can definitely help you out well.

Here is a nice looking fella. Faces up A LOT larger than your pix...and is still within the parameters for a good cut. I like this one a lot. (and it's a GIA cert)

oops. I went $75 bucks over budget...I'll do better...

How about THIS $230 of a ring.

You could have that made with a princess cut larger than 3mm, as you wish. Those bands are very nice to stack, btw
